"First, thank you for being part of and supporting this extensive and creative community over the years and helping us grow to tens of thousands of members and over 3.25mm files. We couldn’t be more grateful which is why we’re reaching out to see if you or someone in your network would be interested in helping continue the Cutcaster legacy.
As the CEO and founder of Cutcaster way back in 2008, I’ve had a passion for the stock image space for years. As the market has evolved though, so have my own business interests as a software developer. We find ourselves in 2019 at a juncture where we would like to find a partner to take over the operation and maintenance of the library and hopefully look to grow the business.
It is fairly inexpensive to run with generally minimal overhead and we would entertain any sort of creative arrangement, including one that could also see us provide some initial technical support.
Please let me know if you’d like to discuss the opportunity further or know someone that may and thank you in advance for your consideration.

And that is pretty much confirmed when they say it’s minimal expense to run it.

Got that email too. Best of luck to them. The last couple years seem like they've been tough on the smaller agencies. Can't say I'd be interested in running one even if I had the money to buy one. At this point, I think you'd need to swing big to succeed, but that has just as much chance of failure.

If you buy it, could you please lower the payout threshold to $1?
It may still take me a couple months to reach it, but maybe I’ll get payout before I end up in a retirement home

I'd check their debts and bank charges could end up costing you more than $15 ;-). I suppose its actually an interesting opportunity for those of you that believe a Contributor run site with high commissions could compete as you have a ready made infrastructure in place.

Offtopic. Was this a "normal" contibutor agreement term?

Maybe if they spent more on marketing they might of generated more income with a lower RPD. RPD is a meaningless stat on its own.

Cutcaster has been one of the worst-performing agencies. I closed my account 3 years ago, and I made about $30 in 5 years of being a contributor. It was clear to me the agency never made any effort to market their collection.

Of course, we pray for a future of $0.0000001 cent RPD, but with companies investing billions for marketting (i.e. "Goog News!!!"). And that will make everybody happy :P
edit: there is a little MS site, (even not listed on the list on the right here :o) where I do more than on Istock now, where I am a contributor since 2005.
My opinion is RPD has to be highly considered.

If they sold 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 images I could live with it. Considered yes but not on its own...Which is better selling one image and earning $2.50 Rpd or 100 at 25c? One makes you feel more valued the other puts food on your plate.

It would be better if your meal satiates longer because you have just divided by 100 the number of potential customers
Do you believe you sell 100 times more when the price is 10 times less???
So, you would prefer RPD of 0.025 to get 250 in the plate...? A question of faith maybe...
