So we know how filling in categories is something that most of us don't like and adds time to the upload process. What we have done is automatically take keywords which are the same as categories we have in the advanced search area and put those files into those categories based on your keywords.
So for example if your African safari picture of a Lion has the keywords animal or wildlife, we will automatically categorize the image under the animal/wildlife category when you get to the submit page. If you want to add more categories to the image you can do that as well but this will at least make it so you can breeze through upload and not have to categorize all your work. We will do most of that work for you.
This will help sort out and filter the content we have so far and speaks to Navarro's point about getting better filters and sorting techniques on the site. Its a long process but let us know what you think and how we can improve it.
