because 95% of sales are $ 0.30: Fake subscriptions

Possibly already been spoken or written in forum, but using the issue of dollar club fotolia is hot and "shop shot" is hot i open this topic to remember what the fake packets subscriptions that create industries stock to not pay us a fair commission.

 http://depositphotos.com/subscribe.html

5 images 37 eur / month you get 0.30$ of 7.44
10 images 52 eur / month you get 0.30$ of 5.20
20 images 58 eur month you get 0,30 $ of 3.38
... you want speak in dollars? its worst than DPC

This kills their own credit packages and  other pages on demand sales as we receive Shutter of 20-30% or 50% Pond5.

I put this new topic to newbies not enter this website and to Depositphotos do what it has done fotolia: ensure at least 25% of the actual price of the image.

Yeah I think they are the worse of the main agencies. Wish I never opened my account.
Sales are delayed 1+ month and/or they still sell deactivated images in their PP.

Don't apologize - you have made yourself understood :)

I looked at the US site where the prices for a one month "subscription" are

5 - $49 - $9.80 each
10 - $69 - $6.90
20 - $89 - $4.45
5,000 - $3,999 - $0.80

I looked at the royalty chart for contributors and as far as I can see you would receive only a subscription royalty - it says "...any of our subscription plans"

http://depositphotos.com/seller-price.html

So although for credit sales, you go from 44% at the green level to 52% at platinum, for these "subscription" sales, you go from 3.06% for 5 a month to 6.74% for 20 a month. Even if you assume that anyone actually purchased the 5,000 a month package, you'd still only make 37% - 7% less than for a pay-as-you-go sale.

If you look at the 3 month plan, the percentages are very slightly better, but still only 7.22% for a 20 a month subscription and 41.09% for the no-one-will-ever-buy-it 5,000 a month plan.

So, unlike SS, where there is a risk that if a buyer used their entire allotment of images each day, SS would lose money when paying out to the 38 cent contributor, Deposit Photos makes out like a bandit most of the time and even in the most extreme case, still pays out less as a percentage than for credit sales.

I honestly can't understand why, unless the majority of your sales there are credit vs. "subscription", any contributor would continue with this wretched excuse for an agency.

I have sold 4 images on 18/june but all files were deactivated 2 months ago.
Is there anyone else generating sales with deactivated images?

Again, here is another agency who preys on contributors. They have your images and will use them without your permission, daring someone to come after them legally.

3% commission!

I just checked my earnings and all subs come in at .30c, theres no way of telling if these have come from the 5 per month subscription.

Seriously this has to be the lowest in the industry!

Does anyone have any info to the contrary?

If this is true I'm pulling my port.

Is easy... click the link... if name of the sale is subscription, 0,30 is your benefit...

Royalties for Files Purchased via Subscription:

With subscription plans, Buyers can download photos and vector images. If an image was purchased with any of our subscription plans, your royalty rate is fixed and depends upon your Contributor's Level:
Contributor's Level and Royalties for
Each Image Sold via Subscription Plan, $
 Green    Bronze    Silver    Gold    Platinum
0.30             0.31          0.32         0.33        0.35

Thanks to the OP and Jo Ann for pointing this out.  I never bothered to look at their pricing, but the monthly "subscriptions" are clearly just image packs and paying only subs rates to contributors when they receive almost $10 per download is wrong.  I won't upload any more there unless they change their payouts to something more equitable for contributors.

My question:
"Please tell me do I get $0.31 per sale if a customer buys Monthly Subscription Plan and pays $49 for 5 images = $9.80 per Image?"

DP answer:
"Yes, you receive $0.31 per subscription sale, regardless subscription type. You receive your fixed commissions even though one image by subscription plan is $0.16. You can see that we offer various subscription plans, starting at $0.15 per image."

I will wait one week and if there is no change I will remove my portfolio!

What do you expect to change in a week?

44% of 9.80 dollars are approx $ 4.50 (GREEN LEVEL)

the most that they lose is $ 0.15 (with a rare mega plan)
The most the contributor lose is $ 4.20 (with a fee that ends with the credits and pictures on demand in more serious webs)

THAT'S A LOT OF MONEY

JUST CALL TO EXTENDED LICENCES "SUBSCRIPTION" THAT WE PAY FOR IT 0.30.

If more contributors complain about this they will probably do what FT did. May be somebody from DP will come here and announce the change in near future.
There is no big difference between the Shotshop situation and this case. I'm a little bit worried about the fact that only a few contributors react on this issue now.
Next week I will deactivate all my images and will activate them back only if they change this policy.

Out of all the shady deals any agency has pulled this one is truly shocking, taking a 97% cut for what effectively is an image pack is appalling.

Someone in that organisation is incredible cynical to fleece contributors so blatantly.

Absolutely. I make about $75 a month there and I made $75 a month of Fotolia, so a $150 monthly loss isn't too bad I suppose. It would be nice to coordinate a LABOR D-DAY, starting Sept 1, 2014.  We could work to get as many people on board between now and then. "D" = DEPOSIT PHOTOS.

One more time. it's impossible to delete uploaded pictures on DP. They keep them for "statistical purposes"  >:(

It is so they can keep on selling them long after they are deactivated. This is precisely why I wish someone could afford an attorney to go after them for this. I cannot foresee one single reason why they would hold on to our images for any other reason but to conduct devious activities.

I'm surprised no one found out about this earlier. No contributor would agree with a 3% commission. Though I must admit I've never looked at their subscription plans. Have they recently changed this?

I will await a reply from Deposit and if this will not change I'll deactivate all my images.

Time ago Fotolia has similar 25$ 5 images month subscription... they changes and now we earns 25% of this plans.

Why we sell a lot of images in deposit and ever we have 0,30 per sale? here is the answer!

Same here. I'm going to write them and while I am certain their response will be of zero value as hey always are, that response will signal my next step.

What a scam. Call a 5-image pack a "subscription" and they get to pay out subscription royalties.

Maybe we need a dedicated thread for this topic. It's a pretty serious issue.

Mentioned it last month here: http://www.microstockgroup.com/general-stock-discussion/what-is-a-subscription/msg379990/#msg379990 but did not attract much attention.
Something has to be done with this DP scam.
Nothing stops  them from creating a 20 dollar single image one time subscription and pay contributor 0.30 for it. This kind of word twisting and manipulation shows what they think of contributors and content.
