Just don't be stupid like me and register through the promo link on the main page then upload your 5 photos then after they are approved upload 90 more  and get them approved before you realize you have to click on that promo tag on the photographers main page to activate it. I thought since I registered through the promo link on the main page that when I got throught the initial test upload it would already be on the promo, but I was wrong. Just want to make sure no one else gets caught by this.  I'm trying to get them to understand what happened. I still got over 200 waiting to be finished and another 30+ in pending. Hopefully they will understand what happened. Well see.

For those of you who have done this, did you show a balance immediately after the images' acceptance? I uploaded my first 90 a couple of days back- they were all approved but I'm showing no balance. I sent them a message to ask about this  but I thought I'd ask you all first before I get to uploading more. When I go to the PPP section, the promo window reads "already activated".

Thanks!

Yup...thats the catch 22. You can't activate the promo untill after your initial images are approved...BEFORE you upload any more. I did the same thing and am currently trying to get it resolved. I already had more thatn 90 approved which I won't get money for. I've got 30+ sitting in the pending bin and over 250 in the uploaded unfinished bin. This were uploaded before the activation and even thought they are not finished yet, I'm going to wait till I see what they say. Hopefully they will coroporate.

It sure seems like they should be cool about this (for your sake as well as mine!) I sent them a message as well and will post the answer. Would you mind doing the same? Sounds like you have a bit of a jump on it!

Thanks!

I guess I should have said don't upload any more untill you get some kind of answer about this. It is rather misleading. Mine said the same thing "already activated", but they say I didn't activate untill the 19th. Sure I'll post. They seem to be pretty quick about it. I'll post the two e-mails I already got from them in another post

Thanks!

It is misleading. The idea that it's set up like that is a little unsettling. If they want/need new images as badly as they seem to, you'd think they would let this slide and make a correction. I'm going to wait to upload anything else and may very well deactivate my uploaded images if they don't budge on this.

here's the reponse to the first e-mail I sent them
"Hello!

You activated Promo Program 19-01-2010 12:28:10 , and we automatically pay
for the images accepted AFTER it is activated.

Have a good day!

Here's the answer to the second e-mail I sent and their response
"Hello!

Program can't be activated automatically because it puts some restrictions
- you can't delete images approved under the action during 6 months, not
all of our authors accept this rules. So action can be activated only by
you after passing the exam. At the Promo page accessible even for
non-logined users all this rules are indicated
(http://depositphotos.com/pages/promo).

From the time it's activated you'll have $0.2 for every accepted image (up
to 500 ones).

Have a good day!"

I've sent them another e-mail saying this
"Kelly,
Sorry to keep bugging you but is there anyway these can be credited under the promotion since that was what I thought I was doing? Everyone keeps telling me I need to explain the situation and you'd proubably understand. I also have pending files and unfinished files that were all uploaded before the 19th. Do I need to delete and resubmit these since these weren't uploaded under the promotion?
Sure would appreciate it if you could help me out here.
Thanks
Donna Beeler"

some of them have been paid for their uploads..I know Stu did..but I guess I wasn't smart enough to figure out how to activate before I started uploading after approval.

Why, it worked fine for me !!  I've even been paid for uploads of people who signed up through me as part of the affiliate program :)

Just remember to push the Join Program button AFTER you've been approved and BEFORE you upload !!

Then try uploading just a few and give them time to work through their system :)

Go on, give it a go :  http://submit.depositphotos.com?ref=1003527

I sent them an email about uploading before clicking the promotion code (I mentioned this earlier, but I uploaded my first 100- which were accepted-but I apparently didn't click the PPP in time.) Here's a portion of the email I received:

"If you agree with terms and rules of Promo Program we may add money for
the images already accepted: to do so we must have your consent. "

I returned the email saying I agreed. We'll see what happens. I should mention that while all of this was going on, I submitted more (AFTER I clicked the PPP button) and the balance showed up immediately for the subsequent images.

evening or tomorrow morning.

ajalbert....I got the same answer...we'll see if they go through with it....I think they will. Here's the e-mail from them.
"Kelly,

Yes I agree to that. Since I thought I was signing up under your promotional I thought I was agreeing to that to begin with. I'm not exclusive with any other agency so it would not be a problem with the six month term. I have photos on several of the Big 6 sites so your conditions would be no problem with me. I can't thank you enough for your understanding in this manner. Next time I will be more careful.
Thank you again for your help. I have many more uploads to finish so I can get them on the site.

Well, in my oppinion everything is quite logical. They have no reason in paying you for image upploading if not to be sure they'll have your works for at least some time - and for some of professional stockers there can be no interest in loosing the control under their works.
And it's really good they give a posibility to moneyout immediately, - I faced with some new stocks that also made promo programs for sellers, but you couldn't have your money until your works are sold for some sum... As a rezult you only have a beautiful number on your computer, not money in your pockets.

The only thing they could do better is to show you a page of promo program with activation button when you enter the site after passing the exam - just to be sure you have read it and understood you wouldn't be payed before you activate it, so not to be in situation of donding. But the fact they promiced to pay for approved images makes me quite optimistic - as far as I understood while looking throug topics on this stock none of the members was deceived by them.

Bingo...they paid.
That definatly makes me more confident in their company and staff...that alone says alot about their view of the contributors which so many of the Big 6 don't anymore.

I could not find an affiliate link in this thread so here is mine http://submit.depositphotos.com?ref=1001512.

That's a joke of course.  But the affiliate link is mine and works.

They do seem to be spending some marketing $$$ because I have seen their banners on many sites before the affiliate program was started (including my site Microstock Photography).  This would at least say they have some cash to back the project.

I have given them a try and have been happy with the site and flow so far.  Lets hope they can bring the buyers when the site goes live.

My is in my referral links, but for some reason it doesn't work. I even copy and pasted it like they said to do on the site. I contacted support about it and hopefully they can fix the problem. Let's see if it works on this post.  http://submit.depositphotos.com?ref=1003098
EDIT; it still doesn't appear to work......grrrrrr
