Hello everyone,
we have started accepting editorial images! Also interesting - our new tax center. Please read our press release on our blog about it:
Depositphotos Starts Accepting Editorial Images and Launches Tax Center
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 7 Dec. 2011 – Depositphotos, the fastest-growing stock photo agency in the world, announces that it is now accepting images for “editorial use only”.
Depositphotos has expanded its license policy to accept non-model released and non-property-released images for editorial use as a descriptive visual reference to current events, newsworthy stories, social events, places and/or products. This new image category gives more flexibility to publishing houses, authors, newsrooms editors, journalists and bloggers to illustrate their stories by providing them with hi-quality images and news sensitive photos. The ‘editorial use only’ images will not be available for any commercial or promotional purposes.

W-8 form nightmare :-\ :-\

Oh, great. I thought it was a Russian company. Now it's going to know almost a third off some of my earnings. I just hope its sales are not primarily in the US. Why did they have to make Florida the head office? I don't think any other country has this ridiculous rule about taxing people of other nationalities just because they sold something in your country.

Thank you for your post and info Marius. I think there might be a lot of your contributors who will now be able to add a lot of extra content to their portfolios they could not earlier.

W-8 form nightmare :-\ :-\
yep but this time is very fast, have you checked it online? too bad the 10% from US, will see how much from there..
the editorial does look good, don't have much but lets upload a few more

Why the he** would anybody install a internet based company in the US? Tax hazzles, censorship, IRS forms...
I thought you are based in Cyprus? If not, do you plan on leaving the US as a registered company?
-
If you upload a large amount of editorials and use the bulk editor for the "editorial only" check mark, be careful because it does not stick with the image. Hopefully they fix this soon. In the moment you have to edit each image to set this check mark.
-
They have fixed the bulk editor.
-
Because of this we expect bigger prices or royalty percentage for us...
-
They have an online version of the forms that you can fill out but they auto fill (can not edit) certain pieces. I tried to call to have them correct my information (they have my address wrong). The woman I spoke to told me to email support after asking me for my user name 4 times.
With only 22 sales in almost a year it may just be easier to close the account.
