DepositPhotos promoting "New Flexible Plan". May be that is not news. But I've just noticed. Monthly plan 10$ for 10 images and you can buy additional images for 1$ and unused downloads transfer month to month >:(
Sound familiar?
For some countries it is 10$ for 10 images and for some - 29$ for 30 images.

UPD.: here is Depositphotos Boycott going on - onlineboycott.net - English, French and Russian versions are avaliable.

Compare to died DPC (the only one screenshot that I've found, red frame is irrelevant now).

Every contributor should write to support asking to have ability to disable this kind of subscription selling. If not then I prefer to disable whole portfolio. IMHO.

We (me and my friends) phoned DepositPhotos and told them what we think. But their managers want to see: How many contributors think the same.

So, guys, please email DepositPhotos support and tell them that you do not want to sell your photos and illustrations at this price ("Flexible plan"). Tell them that it is a sh*t like DollarPhotoClub and you are ready to deactivate your account if they do not cancel that "Flexible plan".

Now they tell the same BS like DollarPhotoClub owners used to. Like "You will get your $0.30 from $1 and it is great!" but if they see many contributors angry they may change their plans. (Not the evil plans, of course. Just this particular one.)

I stopped uploading to DP months ago.

The returns were terrible and when I queried with support as to why every month the sales figures were the same they just told me to add more photos.  ;D

This does nothing to encourage me to go back there

Email them!

I am not surprised. They have been kinda shady from the beginning.

And in the middle (here's but one example of their unethical approach)...

http://www.microstockgroup.com/depositphotos/the-german-shotshop-reseller-of-depositphotos/

This agency has a track record that illustrates the maxim that the best predictor of future performance is past performance. Even if you get them to alter this deal, you'll have to watch them closely to prevent the next...

I have sent them an email.
But I think that it is useless, better to close the account and live happier

Terrible return per download is why I stopped uploading to DepositPhotos on January 1st.  I'm seriously considering deactivating my portfolio because of this awful pricing plan.

Yes RPD dropped dramatically in April 2016 from somewhere around what SS was making.

For me now Bigstock has the worst RPD at less than 40c followed by IS/ThinkStock at under 50c then DP at just over 50c then SS in the 65-75c range.

I am sure this initiative will see another big drop for DP sending them possibly below IS.

SS, 123 and FL managed to maintain or increase their RPD from 2006 till the present day while DP has consistently cut it. No coincidence that these are also the most successful sites. Cutting prices and commissions drives away contributors and is a sign of desperation.

ETA, of course I am a high rank on DP, it must be very different for those on lower levels

The answer to my mail:

"New Flexible subscriptions work the same way as any other subscription, monthly or daily, and allows to use images solely under the standard license. We have added a new feature which allows customers to use what they paid for as long as they keep auto-renewal On. If the auto-renewal is turned off, all downloads expire.

Unfortunately, there is no way to opt out of this option. If you still want to deactivate your portfolio, please let me know, and I will transfer your request to our content department."

Contributors receive fixed royalties for their sales by subscriptions based on their contributor's level.  We believe that these new flexible subscriptions will have a positive impact on sales.

Unfortunately, there is no way to opt out of this option. If you still want to deactivate your portfolio, please let me know, and I will transfer your request to our content department.

Kind regards,
Vicky.

Hi everybody,
My Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian colleagues have planned a protest for New Flexible dumping subscription. Contributors require the ability to disable New Flexible subscription. Otherwise, we will deactivate our portfolios of October 1, 2016. Join us!

How does that work? Do the files disappear from the buyers' hard drives?
