here's what i did, i email the manager @ depositphotos.com, told them i have more than 6k vector images, and give them my portfolio links from other microstock agencies...
after they approved the request, the promotion program is activated...
then i started to upload 500 files and approved...
then i received $50 for those 500 images...
i withdrawed, and now it's in my skrill account...

But when your files are sold for 30 dollars and you only receive 30 cents, do you think this is cool too?

The problem with the 50 dollar payment is that your files must stay online for at least a year. So if you change your mind you cannot deactivate them. This is why I didnt take up the free offer and now I am glad I have the freedom to decide what stays and what needs to be deactivated until this issue is solved.

I have written to them again asking for a written confirmation that all my files have been removed from partners and resellers, but so far no reply.

I also havent seen a general "Opt out" from distribution button, the way dreamstime or other agencies offer it.

I love the keywording service deposit provides, but unless they become transparent and reliable, they will have a hard time attracting high quality content. They also dont have dedicated staff for msg the way other agencies do. It is a pity, they could have become a serious player if they wanted to. Having keyworded content is a huge advantage over all the other micros.

ETA: I just got an email confirming my files have been removed and my spot checks so far seem to confirm this. I will keep checking on a regular basis and see what happens. I still think the site has a lot of potential, but winning trust back will not be easy. The community is very nervous, we have had so many things happen in the last two years.

Well, that's about all that you'll see from them. Their sales are ridiculous.

I didn't do the deal, I don't like the sell out and chains. One year promise and they can do what they want including the Partners and all kinds of under the table deals, some we may not have discovered yet?

True, but it takes that long to reach payout anyway.  ;)

I would think twice if I where you about submitting any more vectors because of the before mentioned reason (aka the shotshop deal)...

I still see top contributors uploading at DP, just like at iStock, it will never stop, even if agencies decide to take 99%, its an impossible mission!

I stopped uploading at IS back in March 2012, did the same when BigStock introduced the low subs royalties and  now at DP as well, will I get anything from doing that? big fat zero yep! I will lose while others will collect and much more in the future, again microstock is unfair and contributors make very different decisions
