10 of 10 rejected for rejection reason "Not suitable for commercial use". All 10 were accepted on SS, FT, DT.... and already sold some of them.
Not just they don't sell but they became very picky lately.

That has been happening to me a lot over the last few months. Tending to be all or nothing with reviews these days to the point where I have pretty much stopped uploading anything.

I'm not alone than. These images were all from different sessions, different subjects. It looks like an automatic review. Well, I'll stop uploading there too.

Yes, with them it happens very often
They have not a real understanding of what is suitable for commercial use, or not.

What I am absolutely sure is that Depositphotos is not suitable for commercial use

(btw, under "rejected" you have the possibility to resubmit try sometimes it works, and sometimes not But really have you so much time to lose with these people?)

So true, you made me smile with this.

Usually I don't resubmit, sure not to this agency. When I upload a batch, I do it for all agencies. The folder with each batch is on my PC but it would be very time consuming to go back and mark what was rejected and where, for a later resubmit.

They are low earner, and almost all sales are subs - very rare to get nice size credit sales or heaven forbid an EL sales.
They are stagnant at best and contributers get tired of supporting sites that do not support contributers

There's definitely been a DP shift. It was an agency that once accepted 90-95% of my submissions and sales many times were close with the SS....but the last 2 or 3 months rejections have outweighed acceptance and sales have plummeted. I had always valued DP's success in selling my less mainstream images but times have changed. I'll keep my portfolio intact but I won't be uploading anymore.

I don't agree at all about the rejections on DP! I am not a season pro, only a rookie, like most of you but my acceptance percentage is 99.3% with only 33 rejections out of my 4,729 images on line there.  8)

@Just the Facts
A rookie with a 4,729 port, congratulation, I envy you.

I am not a seasoned pro either and my acceptance ratio is only 98,..%. Everyone there has a high acceptance ratio but that is not the point; I was complaining about the rejection reason. It is for the first time I get this kind of rejection.
We all know that an image that sells well at one agency, not necessarily will sell well at another, still that doesn't mean that the image has no commercial value. Especially not when some of the images were sold on the very day they were approved on other agencies.

Just the facts!

My last rejection was for The image is not suitable for commercial use. It was an image (nicely cooked BBQ Ribs) that was accepted by 22 other MS companies but I really didn't care why DP rejected it. Not worth the effort to try to fight with them.  I don't consider rejections, views, or even approved images very significant anymore only SALES.  DP averages between $100 to $ 200 per month for me thus still worth uploading but a small potato still compared to the big boys!

If you are asking for a link to one of my ports, that's a no.  I was not asking neither for critique/advice, nor am I in the mood of engaging in a controversial debate about this now, at midnight (my time).
Just stated a fact that some fellow photographers seam to agree with here.

Personally, I am not interested in seeing anyone's portfolio just a sample pic.  I find critiques and advice very helpful myself. Some of the folks here really raised my level and helped me to get into iStock many years ago.

Two of my photos DepositPhotos rejected because they have no commercial value

It is possible that they don't have commercial value. Time will tell.

I had a series rejected with the "Not suitable for commercial use" reason there a few months ago. Same series is now my third best selling series on SS with almost daily sales.

I wish they had a reply button to send back a message like "How would you know what is suitable for commercial use?"

Two whole series were rejected because they were not suitable for commercial use. I emailed them and had a silly reply that the images were not suitable for commercial use after the reviewed again.... I wonder why other images of the same topic etc sell very well at Deposit and even better at other agencies.
If the keep rejecting all sorts of images the end up with a dull collection which is not suitable for commercial purchase. I stop uploading there for a while to see what will happen.

I want to be honest: the first of the two images are not suitable ecc... because a lack of clear subject. Is quite confused for the microstock language, where a tree is a tree and a forest is something more than two trees. Deep or complicated concept, or pictures that require more than five words to be explicated are not suitable for the market that need simple concept.

After that, I'm strongly convinced that behind the screen, to evaluate our pictures there are a majority without competence, or so lazy to take decision, using instead, a coin. Doesn't matter. 75% of my rejection are accepted one or two months later.

They're trying to go for a different slice of the market.

If they don't want them, they don't want them.  No point in whining about it.

They have a very old conception of what the market is

Or they have no conception of what the market is. Why would DP reject anything? The're lucky to have some uploading anything to them. Site in death spiral is rejecting images for not commercial? Good joke.

Being rejected by DP means a compliment. You don't have your pictures being stolen and sold to a sister site as a sub.

Wait what?

Depositphotos are actually rejecting images?

I didn't know that was a thing...
