I guess most of you did get the email from deposit about Updates to contributor royalties on Depositphotos.

I checked their link, which said to clarify the differences between past and now, but I could not figure it out.
Can anyone explain me, what are the differences?

Here is the link, which shows - for me - nothing new. Well, I thought the lowest commission would be 0,22 and not 0,25 - which would be better now. But in another thread others only got 0,14. Confusing!

Sales are low for me at deposit. I was already thinking about leaving DP. Now I have one more reason.

Huh just went up to bronze a month ago after years of waiting for their paltry sales to add up.

Was $0.30 then upto $0.31 now back down to $0.27

What a gang needless to say I deleted all the pending photos I just added and they are going back on the "can't be bothered to upload list"

You left out, before those, BS 2010, Thinkstock 2010, IS and 123RF 2018. Not the first and these won't be the last.

No "exciting news" and "this will make us better" part to it all?

I literally make only a $100 a year with them. Just a good reason to drop my portfolio there.

I do not understand how much was the commission before (in Dollars - not %) before and how much after...

Well, they can't crap on the buyers, now could they.

How does the remove portfolio process work with these guys?

Guess not hitting shutterstock hard is going to keep costing us agency after agency

The problem is we can't hit SS hard with our lack of strength (in numbers), agencies will follow no matter what we do. Since SS's fall from grace I've come to accept the fact that there's no future in microstock anymore. At least not if it keeps eroding further and further.

I've decided to suspend uploading to Deposit Photos.

I sold 13 photos in Nov 2020 and only 2 in Dec 2020! So far this month I've sold 4 photos (the last for $0.17).

I think, I'll wait until I reach there payment level of $50 and close the account.

Presumably they won't payout if you close the account before reaching $50.

On the positive side, they don't reset level once a year - yet.
It's still based on lifetime sales.

For me the bottom line, is I sold 562 photos on ??? in the last six months and 41 on Deposit Photos! Only in one month (in the last six) was Deposit Photo's RPD higher than ???.

I'm going to stick with the other "minow" site Dreamstime, because their RPD is generally better than ???.

I just told them to remove my portfolio before the changes take effect.

Did you hit FT hard for dollar photo? Did you hit BS hard for cutting us to half? Did you hit IS hard for Thinkstock or 15% across the board? How about 123RF that has cut us twice now, Alamy, Pond5, and there are others. But still people blame SS for everything? It's all of them and it's a sign of the market going to Hell.

Once the people who are upset have dropped every agency, then that will hit who hard?  :o
