Hey gang,

I just got an unussual email from someone claiming they got my email address from DepositPhoto:

"Greetings!

My name is Masja Stokkermans, I found your e-mail address from [ http://depositphotos.com ], I hope we can have a positive correspondence and also we can work together? Best regards, in anticipation to hear from you soon.

Masja S."

I suspect that is a scam espacially since it was sent from an email with another name: [email protected]

Has anyone ever received a similar e-mail?

Nothing similar lately. Could be spam, or not..
But i remember once i've been contacted by someone who found a photo of mine on Depositphotos. He wanted to buy directly from me. I've emailed him the picture and he sent me money. Cash in an envelope by post :D

If they want to work with you, they can just buy your photos from deposit. Work together, I think likely means I want a deal.

Probably yes. But even if it's unlikely, it's not impossible, to come up with a deal that's beneficial for both parties, by "cutting out the middleman". But quite little chance that it would worth the time and effort to negotiate such thing

I just wanted to post an update. Turns out it was definitely a scam. One of those "Nigerian" ones where a widow has millions of $ and needs get them out of the country (South Africa in this instance) and I would get $600k for helping her.

This person also sent pictures their friend who allegedly has cancer. These pictures were clearly staged stock images and actually looked quite good.  ;D  I wonder if they got them from DepositPhotos...
