I am a contributor on every microstock site on the list from the top tier to middle tier and have an acceptance ratio of above 80%. I've applied twice at DP with my best photos and all of them have been rejected.

Obviously they have some issue and this is not legitimate but I'm wondering if it's worth trying again. I sent them an email but this lack of professional screening makes me wonder if it's worth trying with them in general.

I am a little lost, you have 80% all around and you can't get pictures approved at DP? something must be wrong, can we see your pictures/portfolio?

If you see this thread:
http://www.microstockgroup.com/depositphotos/change-in-reviewing-process/

It looks like they are having some rogue reviewer making odd rejections for the same reason I outlined.

sorry but looks like you are hiding, that is your choice no problem, just doesn't make sense to complain without much proof, again if you have files approved at SS, IS, FT, DT seems very weird DP is rejecting them...

Not everyone want to publicize their portfolios in a forum buddy. Either I'm making it up because I have a lot of time on my hands (and I've created multiple accounts on this forum to create another thread that complains of the exact same problem in order to reference it to give myself credence) or you should step out of your comfort zone. Either way, if you're not here to help, don't pollute the thread with your personal emotions.

what kind of help do you want here at the forum? ok I get it, you want to share your sadness and want to hear your twin soul saying the same thing is happening with him but in fact you won't find a single person here saying they weren't approved at DP so if you really want help maybe post your rejections and ask for a critique

if not, you are the one polluting, not me ;)

p.s: the other topic talks about persons that had files rejected, not the all bunch like you said

Again, take your time. Read the other thread.

Carefully.

Same exact complaint, same exact reason provided. My purpose is not to spend a day convincing you I am telling the truth, it is to find resolution to the issue. Advice on how to resolve it, or whether I should even try. Your refusal to acknowledge the issue exists is really no one else's problem. So again, please, go read, educate, then provide feedback if you are so capable.

Don't worry EM. mine also got rejected twice so I stopped trying. Maybe they don't like/want my pics. So there is no point trying again as it probably wont sell. I am planning to delete my account from dreamstime as well. No sale so far and tedious submission process. SS and 123 are best so far. Btw I have around 110 online pics

Can`t remember the last time I had an image rejected at DP.  They seem to take just about anything.  Maybe the initial review is tougher.  But regular submissions, they are by far the easiest.  Even take more than CS.

Post a few and ask for a critique maybe it is something simple.

Certainly worthwhile getting accepted there, sales are regular.

Here is my small newbie portfolio. Let me know which image do you think can get me through the "tough" test at DP.

It would be great if you can give general feedback on the portfolio.

Cheers,

I've had a couple of submissions with high rejections IMO best to forget it and move on complaining about rejections is unproductive

I don't understand, your best photos have some obvious issues?

Mostly looks like walkaround vacation pics.  Nice compositions, but some tilted horizons, blown out skies, etc.

Thanks. It's true that mostly are photos taken on vacation. I recently started submitting to stock websites and have used all the images from my hard drive. Only recently I have started clickin with stock in mind. The doors, garlands etc are taken recently. Have sold few of these.
Looks like I have over processed photos. Will take care of that in future. Good to get an honest feedback

That is a good start.

You have a steep learning curve in front of you.
You have to transform from shooting what your eye likes to what the customer likes.

First learn technique, so you can avoid wb and exposure problems. Thats a must.
Then explore rules for composition, the whole artistic basis with colours, lines and focus. Thats also a must.

It might make you a good photographer, but it takes more than that to become a good stock photograper.
Because as a stock photographer you have to be able to photograph keywords, and express them in an innovative way. And thats very contrary to taking photos that you like.
And add to that, that you have to develop your own style and brand and market it.

Your colourfull doors are your best. So your are on the right course.
Maybe you want to do something with lens distortion filters.

Can you please elaborate a little bit more on lens distortion filters? May be a pointer on how to use

Maybe the topic should have been- 'What's right with Deposit Photos' that way the list would have been a lot shorter...

 ;)

Nikd90.
Many of your buildings suffer from lens distortion.
You can work with that in photoshopfilters--> lens distortion.
