Title: what has happened to Deposit Photos Pricing all files $1 !?!!!!!!!!!!!!
Post by: Justanotherphotographer on August 01, 2017, 05:40
I still have some old work up on the site and saw some DLs on demand for only sub commission.

I took a look at the site and it looks like files have been priced for $1 download, on demand all sizes and even vectors.

What has happened! was this announced? How come there hasn't been an uproar?

Agree, I was shocked.
I stopped uploading a long time ago but have some images still on there from years ago. I only noticed because I was updating my months stats for July.
Can't believe there hasn't been more about this on the forum.

There was quite a debate when it happened around winter 2016 :)

As I understand it you don't actually close your account, rather your images are deactivated, but always in their possession. Is this your recollection?

I left a couple years ago, don't remember except my photos aren't for sale anymore and I got paid as I should have for all they owed me. Don't close if you haven't reached payout, the contract says they can keep everything owed.

I deactivated all my files after reaching payout last winter but I haven't closed my account.

Is this that thing? These seem to to be on demand sales without even the thin veneer of the 10 download "sub" plan.

The website shows one price for all sizes as default. 1 credit.

I left them. It devalues my work sold elsewhere at higher prices.
