Agency Based Discussion > Dissolve

Has Dissolve accepted someone for uploading recently?

skysense:
Thanks.

I know my portfolio isn't really the best, but come on, as you posted those two links, there are some crazy videos on Dissolve...

I don't care about them, currently i am on 6 agencies, and lately uploading 99% 4K aerial and ground video. It takes A LOT of time to upload with 3Mbits... :) One more agency would be overkill right now.

And those surely are good enough :)

I guess anyone who has portfolio there should be very careful with any possible payment delays. They surely don't act like normal stock agency now.

I never have problem with payments up to today , only problem I have right now I wait over moth for approval for last footages.

Mantis:
Dissolve came in to MSG to solicit content. They were really nice, communicating with us and answering a lot of questions.  Basically they were here begging for content because they were new.  Then, enter Video Blocks with their 100% commission and $49 clips.  That rattled Dissolve's cages and they got pissed off that many of us started contributing to them.  Us poor fools, who struggle to make money across the micro stock continuum, are being 'unfair' (those are my words, not Dissolve's) to Dissolve. So what do they do? They immediately penalize us mere peasants by forcing pricing down on Dissolve for any clips you have on VB.  WAA WAA WAA.  Now, the cowards are no longer in here, no longer asking for our advice, no longer soliciting content, but have become just like any other agency.  There is a thread somewhere here about loyalty. This explanation is classic agency loyalty, there is none. In a matter of months, Dissolve changed from claiming to be a partner (wanting to work with us) to a self serving group who IN REALITY had no loyalty at all. It was always about them and never about the contributor.

Their site, their rules, they can have it. I pulled all of my content and closed my account there when their true colors were exposed.

For those of you who may not know:

Any content you have on VB you will get VB pricing on Dissolve but only at 30%. So, on VB a clip sells for $49, you get $49 (less a buck or two for fees). On Dissolve, you have to sell that same clip for $49, but you only get 30%, or $14.70.

Same clip: $49 commission vs. $14.70.  Very shady business practice so they can go pound sand.

stockVid:
Dissolve will not accept you if you have clips cheaper elsewhere.

skysense:
Yeah, because it is better not to sell than it is to perhaps sell something :)

This does not apply to contributors like Mantis who pulled their content. If they gave me 30% on my clips only because i have them elsewhere... i would pull back everything also for sure.
