Here is a dilemma:
I got an e-mail from Dreamstime and some buyer requested a RAW of one of my images.
What do you guys do? Is it worth it? Or you never should let go of the Raws? I remember that some person uploaded the raw and then she got 30c for a subscription download.
Another problem is that the image is a picture of a city buildings with some logos on them (they were removed from the Jpeg but I can't remove them from the RAW).
Opinions? Comments?

I generally don't think it is worth the effort.
-
After my jpg file is approved, I upload the raw file as Additional Format
Yes I did have some .30 cent sales but 4.00 sales out weight my sub sales.
:D

For the dollar they want to pay, I can tell them where to go.
Pay 50 bucks or something for an extended license, and you can have that raw file - :)
I'm not in a very good mood today lol

ichiro17 cheerup it's not that bad ;D
-
thanks, i think i'll just go outside and enjoy the weather before smog ruins that :p
-
I'm the one who got the .30 for the raw file. I will never do it again, unless they guarantee a larger sum.

Yeah, I had one of those requests this week and remembered Pen's comments a while back so I just ignored it. Isn't DT wise to keep the buyer's identity secret so you can't negotiate with them.
SHOW ME THE MONEY.
-
i have to agree, ignore them.
-
IGNORE! ;D
-
I ignore them too. Not only because of the money, but because my RAWs are the best way to prove ownership of the photo.
-
I uploaded a few of RAW files as a result of the requests. But at least in one occasion, the buyer didn't purchase the additional format.
I will not upload RAW again because I realize that DT actually does not allow us to delete files, you can only disable the files. I had emailed the support regarding the deletion of certain files and never hear anything back from them.

Great I can make all the big raw bucks ;D
-
I got a request for additional format (eps on a vector). It was already pending, got approved in a few hours, then the buyer didn't come back for it ;D
-
You can't wait for a request buyers want it now ;D

Same thing happened to me last week. The EPS was already pending, and then, nothing happened.
I upload the EPS files for all of my images, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it otherwise. Like if someone asked for SVG instead of EPS, I wouldn't bother.

I've been asked for RAW before, I contacted DT to make sure I wasn't seeing things and offered a TIFF but aparently they only want RAW, so naturally I ignored it, I'd initially presumed a RAW would attract a much larger sale fee and I was gobsmacked when I saw what people actually get is the same as a normal sale, so why would anybody supply a RAW file, what a stupid system.

Agreed 100%, I don't give away my "digital negative" SY

I recently had that and in my case the image had just been bought for credits, so I guess the request had come from this buyer. I didn't have the RAW (it was shot in JPEG), and the closest I would be able to offer would be the original (unedited) saved as TIFF.
Indeed selling the RAW has some issues mentioned here, I wouldn't have thought of it (but such files should never be sold in subs).
I wished however there was some way to reply to the buyer. It sounds rude not to say anything.
