Does anyone here have experience with closing a DT account.

I want to quit DT, I have disabled 30% of my images, but want the whole lot, a whooping 82 photos deleted.  :o

I dont want to wait 6 months, they can have their $1.30 I made over the last few months as well LOLOL

I know I signed up agreeing their TOS, but TOS is overrated, its still law that binds. If I want my copyrighted photos removed asap, is their anyway to go about this?

If not, I will just suck it up and wait 6 months, I just cant stand to even look at their site any longer. Haha.  ;)

Alrighty then, thanks for the replies in advance.

Happy shooting.

You need to suck it up and wait 6 months.

The TOS is a contract between you and the agency - you agreed to it, you need to live with it.  That's the "law that binds".

There is no way around it.

Cool then I will suck it up. I will stop uploading. Maybe in the next 6 months I can make $48.70 of my remaining 58 photos. Whaha. Not a chance in hell.

I had disabled all my files except two of them. I haven't uploaded to them for over a year or a year and a half. I requested my payout and now it won't let me disable the final two files. It keeps saying disable limit reached on the first file. I can't even disable one file. Anyone know if they don't let you disable if you request final payout. I'm tired of stock and am moving on to bigger and better things. I'm slowly getting all my ports deleted...except Shutterstock which I actually make money off of so will keep it. Anyone know what the deal is with just disabling two files?

Did you upload the two files more than six months ago? If not, there is only a certain percentage of files that you can disable. If the files are older than six months, you should be able to disable them, but you might want to leave them anyway until you get your payout. Once you get paid, if you don't want the account at all, you could just have customer service close the account. I don't think the disabling of files is related to the payout, but I could be wrong.

Are there other members who want to close their DT account? Please don't wait to go ahead. The less competition for me the better.  ;)

I haven't uploaded to them in over a year and it was about three or four months ago that I disabled all the other files but those two. They have both been on there for over two years. I don't know what the deal is, but I got a feeling I'll have to ask them to disable them.

I am not competition to anyone in DT as explained before my 82 photos made 1,30 I think I had 6 DL. The only site performing worse is Bigstock.  ::)

Good luck with sales, once I have deleted all my files you all will see a jump in sales. Whaha  8)

Their minimum payout is $100 not $50

It always seemed to me that if you deleted (deactivate?) all of your most recent images you are allowed to first then you ought to be able to get out in less than 6 months, but it depends on how long you have been uploaded and how many old files you have. For instance less than 30% of my images are under 6 months old.

I haven't tried this though, so I have no idea. It does seem that as long as you uploaded the images under the TOS you are bound to it.

Sorry to see you go from microstock Donna, but I don't blame you.  A lot of changes these days make it less rewarding than it used to be.  Just wanted to wish you well in those greener pastures you're headed to :)

And I am sure DT admins will disable your images and close your account when you ask them to after your payout.

Thank You Lisa. It's just not worth the frustration any more. I'm keeping my Shutterstock account because it does make money, but I make more off of Zazzle in a month than I did from all the stock sites combined that I was on in a year.

Wow!  That is impressive.   You must do very well with design, and/or have images that are well suited to products.  Congrats!

I see. Then as suggested, wait for your payout, then just have them close your account. Sorry to see you go, but I totally understand. Good luck with your other "bigger and better things".

I'd be interested to know how you did that.  I haven't been able to make squat on Zazzle.

You can "disable" your files anytime uploaded before 6 months but can "disable" just 30% of your recent files (uploaded within last 6 months). To shorten this period of 6 months you can start disabling from the latest files. But remember that these "disabled" files will remain in their (DT) off-line database until all liabilities concerning them are cleared off. They (DT support) say-
once files are disabled still they are accessible to you and admin. members (but nobody else). The disabled images are usually deleted from our offline database as well 12 months after their disable date.

I haven't any sale on DT for more than 5 days!
What is happening there?

I think there has been yet another search change as my files have picked back up in the last few days.

Business Cards....I don't sell many prints from my photography even though they are on there, but can incorporate them into themes for the business cards and sell them. That is all I do there any more because that is where the money is. I have about 875 business cards on there. Heh and if you have any of those shots that you think are good but the stock sites say no commercial value or white balance is off ect ect or you know they might be a bit blurry....you can always incorporate them into a design for a business card because the card is so small, the imperfections are not noticed...;)

One of the reasons I am deleting my account.

I got a reply and they told me they make no exceptions whatsoever. It will take me over 6 month to get it all down. Ugh

DT is really racing to the bottom as far as I'm concerned. Istock made 3 times more in 2 weeks, with only one tenth of my port at DT.

I think today is a unique example for me at DT.  Usually sales are pretty average lately, but today less than half what I would normally make on a recent weekday.  I checked my search positions and don't see anything amiss.  Might be some sort of technical issues.

I hope that you are right Lisa as today is like a weekend day for me after having  a pretty good week.
