Being fairly new at this, I get my share of rejections and I thought I'd see all the reasons until I got this one from Dreamstime (of all places) the other day....

There are misspelled words in the title, description and/or keywords of your image OR the info submitted is in a language other than English. Without correct information the image cannot be found and your sales will be low. ** Read the following articles to read how to improve your keywording and therefore, your sales: http://blog.dreamstime.com/search-tag-keywords Please resubmit and fix this problem or use the Keymasters program. Make sure to verify the spelling using the spellcheck buttons placed at the right of the description and keywords areas.

Here are the Title, Description and Keywords...

Mature DIYer Admiring Hammer

Mature DIYer admiring the hammer he is holding, isolated on a white background.

50s admiring background copy copyspace diy flannel gray graying grin hair hammer handsome isolated male man mature plaid portrait rosacea senior smile smiling space tool white

And here a thumb of the picture...

The really odd thing about this is it is but one of several in the series, all with identical keywords and very similar titles and description -- all of which were approved on Dreamstime.

I resubmitted the picture thinking it must be an error, and it was rejected a 2nd time for the same reason  ::)

What is a DIY...? (For those not coming from the american culture where this may be obvious...)

Do It YourSelf

I'm far from being from the US culture but this is commonly used.

Despite you having several similar already accepted, I think it's the "DIYer" triggering the rejections. Maybe just stick to "DIY".

on the other hand... if you search for "diyer" your pics are the only ones that show up  :D

I would substitute "DYIer," with the word "Handyman". It's more descriptive, and would probably get more hits,

yea, omitting Handyman was a major oversight, especially for the keywords.  I resubmitted the rejection changing DIYer for Handyman and added handyman to all the keywords in the series.

This IS much stronger, but I still think it was a strange rejection.

thanks for your help and advice!

At DT I use the spelling checker on every image. If it indicates it is wrong I either use a different word or change it to their suggestions. No Rejects.

Bigstock rejected my images of a dog and a cat doing sex with reason: We have enough of this subject already...sorry. More unique images will help your images stand out from the crowd.

Haha :D

I could imagine any other reason...but this... :D

Ivan, have you not seen those hundreds of images they have of this already! My god, hope it was a small dog or a very big cat. Think you should post that picture here so we can all be amazed! Regards,David

Why have you got the word 'rosacea' in the keywords? Was it that which triggered a rejection?

I'm a mother-tongue English speaker and the only meaning of the word I know of is the scientific one - members of the Rose family.

Now, I've heard some beautiful people being described as 'a rose', but ...   :-)

Rosacea is a skin disease that causes red blotches and bumps on the face.  It comes and goes to some degree.  The model has a moderate case of Rosacea.

I resubmitted the photo substituting handyman for DIYer and it passed with no problem, with Rosacea in place.

However, IS is having a fit with Rosacea.  They accepted several, but have refused the last batch with that has the reason.  On there resubmit page, there is no area to leave comments to reviewers, so I couldn't explain the reason for the term.  I just left it out.

"Photo appears to be underexposed. Please consider re-shooting the photo or editing the file accordingly"
