I got an e-mail from them...

I got a sub sale for .70 and thought this might actually bring this month up, but then I got one for .35 and figured I guess not - plus I am pretty sure that we don't get 50% from sub sales. If it is like SS - more like 30% Still, it would be nice to get full royalty if I get any sales before it is over.

How many buyers are active from today until the 25th? Not many I would think. It would be great if it was for longer than these 4 days when no one is in the office.

Classy promotion by Dreamstime!
What a refreshing move compared with some other agencies that use any opportunity to extract ever more from the contributors.

I've contacted all three of my buyers but they are on holiday in North Korea and have no internet access.

Nice gesture though.

nothing but subs for me since it started - too bad we can't get 100% on those - I wonder what it would be...

All my subs during that time period were either $0.70 or $4.00.  So someone was buying.  Several credit sales after Christmas, but none during the promotion period.

What?  They give us a year end bonus.  How is this taking money from you?  Did you leave something out?

They gave the bonus just to take it away this is what they wrote:
Due to reasons which are beyond our control, we are sorry to let you know
that $.... have been removed from your earnings as result of a refund for
Possible refund reasons:

- Accidental download;

- Admin download test;

- Credit card fraud with mandatory refund issued at request to real card
holder;

- Duplicate download;

- Incorrect size/format/license purchased;

- License update;

- Performance issues (misspellings in texts, quality);

Due to the high volume of daily transactions, we cannot provide additional
clarification on the refund performed. Measures are always taken for the
licenses to be withdrawn and images deleted. Any subsequent unlicensed usage
is liable to legal action and penalties.

This is really theft

Oh, yeah I get those messages too sometimes.  Not connected to the bonus, but it is frustrating.   More so if its a large number during a slow month!  You got my sympathies mate.

I got some .70 and some .35 subs during this time period. Were they all supposed to be more than the standard or are the .70 subs just something different that I am not aware of (like the $2 pseudo subs).

Newby question: What are subs?

Please tell me that you're so newbie that you haven't signed up on any micros yet.

Subs = bulk 'subscription' sales, usually cheap and paying little to the image producer.

Sorry, not quite that new. :) So the 25 a day downloads I've had on SS are subs? Just trying to learn the lingo.

I understand the frustration (we've all had refunds), but it's not theft. The money wasn't yours to begin with. It might be credit card fraud (in this case it's theft by the fake buyer, and DT has to give back the money to the credit card company) or perhaps the buyer wanted another size or another image instead.

I do think refunds for digital goods should be made impossible (at any site) because no-one can properly check whether the image will be not be used after the sale.

But I got probably 2/3 refunds in 2 years and now suddendly during the promotion me and my wife got refunds for more than 50 downloads sorry but something is not right here also be because the downloads happened during 5 days and not all at once I truly think is very strange
