How to submit: You will have a special dedicated page for video upload which you can access here and then use the FTP here . We currently accept only Quicktime MOV format. The resolution required is SD, HD 720p, HD 1080p and 4K. Codec PhotoJPEG or MJPEG, quality 95%, high or best.

There is no separate exclusivity option, the exclusive status is applied to both still images and videos. Exclusive contributors who submit video content elsewhere are kindly asked to clarify their status with our support until December 1, 2013.

For them to have a hope of catching up with the other sites, they need our clips. They should pay a flat 50% for the first 2 years. If they get buyers, then they can change that. I'll probably only upload a few clips. Not worth it if they end up paying 25% for the first download.

By the way, why pjpeg and mjpeg only?

My camera (most of the cameras actually) creates original H264 .mov files. Why do I have to process them to convert Pjpeg? All other agencies accept H264 except IS.

Achilles, I mean c'mon... Why would I want my videos to be licensed on DT instead of Pond 5 or SS?
The footage market is not so oversaturated, if the buyer cannot find the proper clip he moves on to the next site.
I prefer when the next site is Pond5.com.

$ 70-80 for HD seems to be the sweet spot for me. SS is very succesful with $79.
Achieving Level 4-5 with clips in a reasonable timeframe on a site that just started to sell footage is unrealistic.
As of now, I am not interested in your footage program.

Non exclusive uploads are checked as "exclusive " in the pending files section. Seems to be a bug in the upload process.

Totally agree. Videos do not sell in the volumes of still shots and are a lot more work. Pond5 has it right and Shutterstock has good volume, if lower prices. The less said about Istock the better. I can't see any reason to sell on dreamstime. Buyers will quickly search the all the sites- there's far, far fewer pages to go through on a search. If I sell on dreamstime I'm just giving it away.

Perfectly said, and completely agree. I won't be UL'ing to DT as long as they keep the proposed structure.

This seems a logical analysis. I tire quickly of sites that don't produce a modicum of sales. iS has flatlined with no defibrillator in sight. FT has sent me to the looney bin more than once with their erratic editing; take it all one day and nothing the next.

25% for the first sale always seemed a bit low to me, but at least with the pics there is a reasonable chance that you could get a bunch of sales and thus get a better percentage over time. In my quite limited video experience one or 2 sales might be all you get.

It's nearly impossible to get a reasonably high level of video sales, so the RPD will be much lower than on most sites. Doesn't sound very appealing to me.

I posted in the thread that the levels are a big disincentive to upload but they seem to think it will be quite easy to get 25 downloads. If they do as well as some other sites that are late to the party, it will be impossible for me. Much more likely that almost all of my clips will be on level zero and that's not making me want to upload my portfolio. It's a shame that they don't take much notice of contributors feedback. I'd like them to do well with video but they would have to at least start paying us as much as Pond5 until there were regular sales or it really doesn't seem worth the effort.

I'm uploading clips to 5 sites but it's only Pond5 and SS that get most of them because it takes a lot of time to upload. DT are now 6th on my list, almost beyond the back burner

25 DLs on video is really tough, even on the better sites.

25 downloads for a video is a lot and it seems they may be overestimating the volume for footage. On the picture side I really like dreamstime (other than the subscription offering) and it does well for me. So I'm hopeful for the video side but they're really late to the party and both royalties and prices will have to come up quite a bit if they plan to succeed and get contributors behind them.

I sent 2 videos in and went through all the steps to get them into pending and all was fine for about 2 hours. Then they just vanished, not in pending, not in on line files, not in rejected, no where to be found! I posted on the message board but no response about it yet (8-9 hours ago) I am now thinking that maybe might have to wait until the whole thing is up and running to let them get past the bugs.

I had 5 uploads vanish. I uploaded my smallest files first, as I thought something might go wrong. Don't think I'll bother with anymore, I'll wait and see if anyone gets some sales with them.
