DT Rejection... Need to learn!!!

(1/2) > >>

river:
This one is rejected from DT where as all other Stock sites have accepted it.

The reason they gave is,
"Poor execution, please pay more attention to detail. Such as: too simplistic, poorly traced images, faceted curves, aliased lines, distorted pixels on lines as well as on various images used within the illustration, moiree due to downsampling."

I started this career with DT and still I have far less images in DT than any other sites :(. I have learned a lot from DT rejections. The rejections dont daunt me. But they need to be reasonable ;)
One possible problem could be unrealistic crack. Can anyone please point me to a link where I can learn about producing realistic crack in Photoshop. I have been already been through this tutorial http://www.lunacore.com/photoshop/tutorials/tut029.htm

I request forum members to give their opinions on this image so as to improve it.

The below image also faced the same AXE effect...

Reason:
Image is out of focus or too much of the subject is out of focus (DOF too shallow or DOF not justified) / Image is shaken. Use a faster speed or a tripod. Please check the files at 100% zoom before submitting them.

Actually in the above image I didnt find any blurs or out of focus issues...

Please do comment...

Thanks in advance

This is just a suggestion, you can take it or leave it.

For the second image, I would remove the flowers at the bottom.  They don't seem to add anything to the image and they make my eyes wander back and forth between the mop and the flowers.

Just a thought, not a sermon...

I like the first image. It s an interesting image. But I do not know how to create realisitc cracks. I just did one with a few small cracks which was accepted at DT. But they were tiny in comparision to your huge crack.
I think you somehow can try to give it depth by creating a wall (I do not know a better englisch word to describe it) on the one side of the crack which more and more dimms the deeper it goes. On the other side let it be black as ist it with shades which also dimms the more closer it gets to the side with the wall. It might be some work. But that seems to be an image which might make some money.  I do not know how to better describe it. Maybe it helps.

One of my favorite rejections is   "focus is not where we think it should be" , I think that's an SS one.     :D   Like, who took the picture, oh yeah, me... and what was I focusing on,  oh yeah,  what I thought I was taking a picture of...   I love that one.
I like the mop/wall pic...  nice shot, looks crisp..   but I think I agree with GeoPappas...   paint out the flowers on the bottom, resubmit.  Don't get me wrong,  I like the pic as it is flowers and all...  but it seems flowers tend to get rejected frequently anymore... much of the time you can understand where they're coming from with the rejections. Other times, they make no sense at all.  Nice work, river!!   8) -tom

Thanks for the suggestion on 2nd image.

I will submit other image of the same subject without flowers. I thought presence of flowers might add some design and if not required can always be removed as it occupies the bottom portion ;).

Please advice me on the first....
