I uploaded my first batch of photos to DT 11 days ago. The estimate to review hasn't changed much and still shows 116 hours. Is this common? I know we've had the holidays, but this seems excessive.
-
They have incredibly long review times.
-
It's taking more than two weeks for me.
-
Thanks for reassuring me. I'll keep waiting.
-
Longest waiting time of all my agencies, have some pending for over 18 days.
-
When you upload the same picture on the same moment on SS and DT chances are that it already sold a dozen time on SS before it gets approved on DT
-
If you plan to upload Christmas images...do it in July. They may just get in by Boxing Day.
-
I wouldn't worry about it - DT regularly competes with IS to win the trophy for Slowest Review Team on Earth.
In defense of IS though, at least they understand that an image containing some of the same elements or props is not similar if the concept is different. DT can't seem to grasp that and are the poorer for it.

But at least DT know when they're looking at a render and don't mistake it for a photo or a vector illustration :)
-
Soooo long, and you're right, the same images uploaded at the same time on SS has already sold
-
Dozens of sales on SS while the images sit in the queue on DT - Mine all seem to be at 142-145 hours for days on end. But they do get approved eventually. Uploading my Christmas 2015 & New Years 2016 images in July this year for sure!
-
Arrrg. They are finally starting to review my images, but they are getting rejected for not using a paper model release. My fault for not reading the submission guidelines close enough, but really? No Easy Release for DT?
-
It would be nice if DT would send out a note to us on why they are so SLOW on reviews. Now, I am wondering if they cut back on editors to save money like GL did in the past? :-\
-
According to this, they do accept Easy Releases - http://www.dreamstime.com/thread_32887 (http://www.dreamstime.com/thread_32887)

Thanks! I sent feedback on 5 images (the limit) and linked to that thread. We'll see what happens.

They're a pain in the backside for model releases. They're the only agency I deal with who won't accept another agency's form. You have to use a generic one, or one of theirs. Fine, let the images sell on SS!

ROFL ;D

DT moves with multiple speed of light. 24 hours at DT are as long as 6 days here on earth. Or the battery in DTs clock is low, who knows?

Good analogy. I just got 47 of 49 approved but they were up for it seems like 3-4 weeks.
-
Still very very very long for review time ! :-\
-
well had around 20 images all approved in short order less than 3 days somebody shifted in to high gear :D
-
I've had a couple batches of editorial approved in three days but regular RF has been waiting more than a week. Were yours editorial or commercial?
-

and by the time dt get 1 dl the same file on ss would be close to 50 dl ;D
what's worst is the top ranking color still earn pennies at dl when a single file earn up 120 dollars
at ss
back to why so long to review. i imagine the boss working all by himself in a basement reviewing everything himself with such a poor performance record , why bother.
even more silly is the emails telling you to donate your work that has not sold after 3 yrs.
even ss does not waste your time this way, and there we get monthly payouts unfailingly.

They were commercial ~ up until around 10 days ago it was painfully slow taking 2 to 3 weeks then bam! The entire backlog cleared and then all new submissions were clearing inside 2 days
-
I have a batch of commercial images submitted on Jan 21st that is listed as under review today - so about 12 days to get reviewed for me. I had an editorial batch submitted after that that was reviewed in three days - weird. I guess they just like you better than me. ;D

So true - they finally approved Valentine's Day images and others I uploaded at least three weeks ago; they seem to get slower all the time, meantime they've sold on many times on SS and have even sold on FAA already!
They're caught in some strange time loop where 156 hours = 3-4 weeks. I didn't even bother uploading my newer holiday stuff there figuring that they'd be approved so far after the fact that it wasn't worth the trouble. Sales are steady though at least.
-
Oh well that didn't last back to waiting again :(
-
Speaking of which.
Go Stock Images tab - Abstract - Latest Uploads and check those 2 cat/dog images ::)
Not the uploader at fault here but a cross-eyed reviewer!

Puffer skitty? what! :o
Someone needs to educate them on what an abstract is :D
-
And they're still rejecting images with similar themes, though yesterday someone downloaded about 15 images in one of my series on SS. DT and iS like to shoot themselves in the foot for some reason.

That is so true!! They accept everything, the time review is to long!
