I have a model release from him.  It's just signed

T

I think you got duped, because I know the real model and he goes by:

Mr. T

But seriously I can't believe that so many images are stolen.

Do you think that they actually buy the images (with a subscription possibly), or are they hijacking them somehow?

And one more just for fun. Here is the DT version

http://www.dreamstime.com/microphone-image4568070

Here's the SHutterstock version I found

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-2303158-retro-microphone-with-reflectors-on-background.html

So looks like Zillman98's most popular images can also be found elsewhere under a variety of different user names. Imagine that  :)

He only joined DT in February 2008.  Since then he's uploaded over 1200 images.  Seems he's taken out a subscription at Shutterstock and is uploading all those images to Dreamstime.

Is there confirmation of this? Do you know this to be true?

Many photos in his portfolio come from www.sozaijiten.com

Flowers from http://www.sozaijiten.com/sozaijiten.asp?vol=110
Food & Dishware http://www.sozaijiten.com/sozaijiten.asp?vol=170
and probably more

You guys have been doing better at finding the originals, but as I looked I knew I'd seen these images before.

However, I've been looking through this scumbag's "portfolio" on DT, I've noticed the amazing spam in his keywords - woman, women, summer,  beach, etc. in images that had none of those things.

I don't know why this portfolio is still up on DT - a couple of you contacted support earlier, right?

In addition to how so many images could slip through, I can't imagine why anyone would approve these keywords. They are pure, blatant, no-gray-areas spam.

As to the OP - this isn't the first time this has happened and we all need to look out for each other. It's clear the sites can't do this - why didn't any alarm bells go off before, I wonder.

I just sent them an email.  I think someone else did allready too, but probably doesn't hurt if they get a couple - they for sure won't miss it then.  Has anyone else found his portfolio on other sites?

Ok so It appears some of us have held court proceedings, and have found this individual GUILTY as charged (Thievery)

Now what is the penalty say you?

1. Take his birthday away for 6 years.
2. Make him sit in a corner facing a wall for 8 hours a day for 30 days.
3. Suspend his accounts and ask him to send an email of apology to everyone he snatched images from.
4. Be friendly with him and open up communications so we can understand "What was he thinking!"
5. Nothing since we do not have any authority to prosecute him any further.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who made an effort and took time to investigate this matter.
You are a credit to the stock community, and we love you for it. I am proud to say I work along side you.

Good work, now lets make more images!

I doubt if the port is up elsewhere. The guy can't spell and you are right it is full of spam. I have fired off a few notes with image IDs and even SS and IS links to DT, the last one being the GoldGuys Baseball Trophy image. The Lumaxart2D user is a major DT contributor, so they have no choice but to take notice.

As far as hearing back from them, don't forget that they were probably gone for their weekend by 1 pm US Eastern Time, so email will probably not be addressed until the wee hours of Monday US Eastern Time.

I'm really surprised that many of these images were approved.

So many of them are just instantly recognizable.  Don't the approvers know the work of some of the best microstock artists in the world?  If they don't, then they should be forced to study them.

this is like traditional trader...buy cheap(from SS) sell high, he is using SS as wholesale store.

Does DT show the contributor on the reviewer's screen?  I know CanStockPhoto said they weren't going to - so reviews were fair & anonymous.  If that were the case on DT, they would THINK it was a Lumax.

I don't know how reviews are done at DT, but I think it's a fair comment to say that having 1200+ images many/most of which were stolen from other contributors go through the review system in 2 months indicates they need to take a serious look at what they're doing to prevent this type of thing from happening again.

It's not that people will stop trying to pull these con games, or even that the sites fall for it initially, it's that so many images did in such a short time and none of it raised any red flags.

I looked at this user's referrals and noted one new photographer, Photosmillenium, for whom zillman98 is a favorite. I was staggered at what's been approved for him - page after page of simple bursts and sunrays, things that I'd never have thought DT would approve (very low quality work, IMO). I don't recognize any of the stuff though.

Then I noticed that a site admin, Anyra, lists zillman98 as a favorite photographer.  He certainly wasn't flying under the radar...

Well that's quite interesting to hear. I don't submit too many fractal images, but just about everyone I do gets bounced. And the ones I do are not garbage either. A cuple of weeks ago, as a trial, I did a cherry blossom handmade paper looking background with cherry blossoms handcut from photos, and that got bounced. Then I look at this Zillman trash, the latest uploads all that nonsensical garbage fabric, and it just ticks me off.

Now that you mention this Anyra connection, I am furious. Because I look at my stuff, then look at that fabric trash, and ask "How?" I can't be so unlucky as t get Atilla the Reviewer everytime.

I really can't complain too much about the DT rejections because I do have a high acceptance rate. I am not a mega submitter. But in the case of the paper background, I did work hard to produce something very different for me, that looked very good, only to have it cast aside. Wanted to try the paper as they seem to sell well at DT.

Just found that Lumaxart2D is the first listed Fave Photog for this Zillman character. Well I guess if you fave him you can lift an image or two. That's just too ballsy.

The only way I can justify it is maybe these guys work for an animation company and they worked together while modelling that bank vault so it belongs to all of them!!??

But what about the florals and japanese images???

Kristy Pargeter is one of the most famous microstocker... do you think she works in the same animation company?
 ;D ::)

I was just doing some useless brainstorming ;) This guy is obviously a clever idiot and should be punished.. I am gonna check his complete port to see if he has any of my images.. and if he does, oh boy he is in trouble.. I am gonna call the police..

and if he doesn't, I am still gonna call the police   :D

I meant at DT with their admins. I am not faulting you for raising the issue at all.

I do however think that if the sites are to have any credibility at all with buyers, they can't be flogging stolen goods. They also say they need ID to prevent fraud, and we have to demonstrate we're the copyright holders of any art we upload, etc. They make a lot procedures ostensibly to ensure that they only license stuff from the people who are legitimately allowed to license it. What's the good of any of that if they can't tell stolen images -the one you found was already on their own site, so a simple duplicate check would have unearthed a problem,

This also points out another issue.  I wish that DT and other sites would not allow people to "fave" you without permission.  Seems like faving someone is a really easy way to copy (or apparently steal from) people whose work you like.

On istock you have to agree to have someone in your CN before they can add you.  Copying by some CN members is one of the main reasons I have turned off that option there.

Photosmillenium - I can't put my finger on it, but I can almost swear I've seen some of these images before. Particularly some of the busines bar graph ones with the silhouettes.

And on the Admin Anyra being the first to list Zillman98 as a faved photographer, well I just emailed DT specifically about that connection, so I definitely do feel my account suspension looming, keeping in line with the cloak and dagger and KGB-like behavior of some of the DT Admins.

my goodness, are you guys thinking it's an insider ripoff?
this can open a can of worms... like why certain good photos are rejected from many of you long time members.

this could be exciting... and scary,, too (for a newbie!) :P
THIS IS NOT A LATE APRIL FOOL'S JOKE , is it? :D

Everyone remember Joma said this and not me!  :) :)

Well, I questioned the Anyra link based on what has been discovered. It's just too fishy. Site Admins should be beyond reproach, period. In my opinion, they should not be allowed to market images, nor show favoritism towards ANY photog. A Site Admin should be just that, and nothing else.
