I had a request for an additional format , a RAW file in this case from a buyer. What gives here? Is there extra money in it or are they looking to manipulate the image further? There's an option to ignore the  request which is what I will do. A buck doesn't allow for much in the way of extra customer service.

yes, i had one last week too.  and i asked the same question .
the answer is yes, you get sort of double in commission.  but i did not give them the RAW.
i consulted some of the old timers for advice , and i took what they told me as my decision.

At microstock prices, I don't think buyers should have the right to request anything more than what they already get. It's like ordering a $1 hamburger at McDonalds and asking them to make it from a certain cut of beef.

For $1, you get what you get.

You do get paid quite a bit more for a RAW file. But.... the only times I've heard of anyone fulfilling a request like this the RAW file was downloaded as a sub, which is still 35 cents.  I disregard those notices myself. If they really need it they can contact me directly and negotiate a price.

Pix, yes, so i've been told. my shot wasn't really that unique, but still i feel RAW is giving a little too much away. it's different if it was a total buyout for a fixed price.
i probably would have given the RAW.

Thanks all, yes, my sentiments exactly.
