I am depressed !

My sales drops suddenly this week.

I have 8-10 sales per day before this week, but now I have 1-2sales per day.

After seeking for the reason I found that has the possibility is the sales drop which the new search engine creates.

I did not know when the search system is upgrade.At present seeks for my picture through the search engine, they usually after 100 pages, but before, they usually in first 3 pages.

At present through the key word search picture, the rule which demonstrated is sorts according to under sales capacity how many. This is helpful in the buyer discovers the most popular picture but these picture overwhelming majority is the old picture.This rule was very difficult to find the new picture and new contributor.

The above is my analysis, possibly is the individual phenomenon.

Whether some people also do encounter this kind of situation? Hopes everybody discussion.

Not only the search engine, the new uploading is very problematic to begin with.

Some files disappeared no matter if I uploaded on the site or by ftp.

My sales are not great either.

Something very weird is happening at DT. I'm new, my portfolio just hit above 125 images and I was beginning to see a some consistent downloads. I WAS getting about 1 or 2 every few days, but now ~ NOTHING. I haven't had a sale since March 9th!

I'm not sure what it is, but its sure got me down

I have 100 files up and have barely sold anything since starting in January with them - I do much better on other sites like SS and IS. I hope this change at DT might be a good thing and bring about some sales for those of us that have seen nothing so far. But as of today - still no improvements, still at $9 for weeks now.

I need just $1.49 for a BME at DT. I have just checked the new search engine, and with the view set at relevancy, 80 photos per page, I put in a keyword and got 25 photos on page 1. I certainly can't complain.

For me it´s been dead for a long time, and are just lately picking up again. Imagine if all of us had topplacings in search at the same time

Sales are good there this month and I have had no problems uploading with FTP. I have had more rejections this month but that is my only complaint.

This new search is good for me at the moment as I have a lot of level 4 and 5 images selling but in the long run I don't think that it is good as the default search in my opinion should be a relevancy mixture of new images and best sellers.

Oh, have they changed the default to bestsellers? No point in uploading new pictures, then. It must be a bit frustrating for buyers too, since they don't get the most relevant pictures with a simple search, but have to go in and change settings. Take "Greenland" as an example: Only two of the pics on the first page are from Greenland, the others are maps, globes or pictures of green fields. It's a beautiful goat, but I can't really see a travel agency usïng it for a brochure about Greenland...

Not a change I like, in contrast to the new upload which I think was a change for the better.

Same for me. They're even rejecting most of my illustrations, which is new. In the past, it seemed like they accepted almost every illustration I threw at them. I think they're tired of silhouettes or something.

No complaints from me. Looks to be BME at DT this month.

Relevant titles and descriptions along with high acceptance rate are the best ways to boost visibility in the searches.

Not to mention that the $ per sale has risen to over $1.50 this month. I believe that is my highest for any micro site.

I haven't seen any dramatic difference in my download rates at DreamsTime over the last week. I've got about average in sales this month.

It looks to me like the default search method is now by downloads decreasing. This means that if you have a lot of older files with large numbers of downloads you will be fine, if you have mostly newer files with less downloads you won't do as well. Unfortunately this is a positive feedback loop. I am close to a BME there though, as my older higher level images are doing well. I still think the default search should be most relevant, and it should really be most relevant (based solely on the image, not the contributors camera or acceptance ratio or country). At least DT returns the lowest number of completely off the wall and spammed images.

It does seem like they are shaking things up there, I hope it all turns out well when they are done.

Ohh thanks for noticing... It's absolutely true, it's now by download decreasing!! I wonder how many people will use it that way. I noticed that my highest downloaded files have sold a couple of times in the last 2 days

My previous BME record was smashed this month (22% increase), so no complaints here. I'm seeing brand new images, old images that have never sold, and old favorites all selling in the past week, too.

DT has been pretty much a dead loss for me. Up a bit in dls this month but 99% subsales at $0.35. Return per Image at lowest ever and half of my average. Any change can only help me.

DT has always been bad for me so it wasn't hard to get the BME for me. I also did get some files lost.

New BME for me. I just checked, my images are now much better represented but I did not notice an very noticeable increase of downloads this past week or two. While I am of course biased I do think it seems to be a much better search result than before, at least with the topics I am familiar with.

The more I think about it, the more annoyed I get. The only pictures I have sold the last days, are the ones that are similar to my bestseller. My new pics hardly get a view.

@Vonkara; I see that pancaketom managed to explain where I failed. And there certainly are plenty of photos from Greenland. If the buyer goes in and changes to "sort by relevancy", he'll find them. But it's an extra obstacle, and since all humans by default are lazy, it's an argument against searching and buying from Dreamstime.
