The most variable site for me - periods of nothing then a flurry of downloads ;)

Things have been fine there this month - other than the odd swings from subs to credits. There's a ton of Christmas images in the mix, so if you don't have much Christmas stuff, it's possibly a pretty tough time of year

It seem most prevalent at DT but I am noticing the same variable at most of my sites.  It seems we are divided into quadrants with the search engine randomly selecting a quadrant of the day.

I wonder if the same IT section runs all search engines?
 ???

Haha I sometimes wonder the same.  They are all conspiring to drive us crazy :D

November has been my second BME at DT.

December is going to be my WME at DT
(excluding the first few months in 2007 when I had only a handful of pictures there).

It makes no sense at all.

I've had downloads there almost every day this month except yesterday and today - so far December is strong but not spectacular.

It does if you assume some sort of rotation is in effect.  They've concluded that all it takes to keep a contributor active is an occasional big month.  For me that was September, when I made several times what I make in a typical month -  all on credit sales.

I didn't assume this just because I try to avoid conspiracy theories whenever another simpler explanation is possible. But I admit that I am under your same impression at times, when some patterns are beyond normal probability.

I haven't had a lot of sales this month, but with an average RPD of $4.36 those few sales total more than SS at this point.  I'm sure that will change by month end and I do realize that those sales could have been easily all been subs and I'd be on the complaining side of this thread.  Definitely love those big credit sales when they come around.  Wonder if buyers are out of subs plans and not renewing until they see if the world ends next week or not :)

Going well for me, most likely to be a BME - I do have new xmas stuff that is doing well (wish I had more!).
Not that my BME is anything to brag about, I've only got 250 files online.  Only 10% are subs so I'm happy that even though DLs are low the $ are good.

They are taking longer than normal to review though.  I've had a few images move to the "image under review" status for 24hrs now.

* I love it when you say something here and it's fixed. Just had a whole batch go through. :)

Given up understanding search engines.  Just sold one from Page 10 of a search for "Happy Holidays."
That was Page 10 of "Most Downloaded."  But, it was on Page 1 of "Most Relevant."
I guess the buyer must have used "Most Relevant" search?   ???

Brilliant start to the month at DT, great level 4 & 5 credit sales, inc TIFF. Then, just slowed hugely.

Still getting sales, just not anything amazing. Will still be on par with most months, but if it had of maintained initial sales levels then it would have tripled most months.

I am expecting the usual stoppage of sales (or near stoppage) that always hits the last half of December and first week or so of January. Doesn't seem any point in trying to draw conclusions about any site's performance based on December numbers IMHO.

Aha... here's a chance for me to use YMMV ...  ;D

My December is already better than last Jan, Feb, Mar, May, Aug, Sep, Oct .  Last year, December was better but we still have a few days to go.

Not sure of any conclusions, however, can be drawn from such a small portfolio.

PS:  And, I actually disabled more images during the past year than I uploaded.   :-\

ED:  Ooooops... had to remove November ... it was nearly a BME.
