Title: Ive been labelled as an AI contributor
Post by: dragonblade on October 19, 2024, 07:57
I don't believe what's happened to my port on DT. I only submit photos and DT has now labelled me as an AI contributor. I do not have any AI content in my port. Ive viewed a whole bunch of my photos in edit mode and the categories have been changed (without my consent or knowledge.) With all the photos Ive viewed, the top category has been changed to Illustrations & Clipart. And the sub-category reads "Generative AI." And that is complete nonsense. Above the categories, it says "AI Contributor" and "Generative AI category is selected by default."

Has this happened to anyone else on DT?

I'm going to contact Support and tell them to fix this mess.

I see that upon upload it always has ai as default category, that saves me a click the ai content.

For non ai content I now have to manually change the categories.

But I supply a lot of ai, so for me this is correct.

Like you said, write to support, let us know what happens.

This is also the case for me - I think they have simply set this as the default state everywhere.
As soon as you have changed this once, the system seems to remember the status.

Ah I didn't notice that AI setting (when submitting photos.) I deselected it when I submitted my latest photo. That seemed to remove the AI category from my other photos automatically. Though it stills says "AI Contributor" on my photos in edit mode. I'd like to get rid of that label too because I don't have any AI content in my port. Clearly, I'm not an AI contributor.

thanks for the heads up.  that said DT is an agency i've stopped uploading to.  just simply not worth the effort for the tiny sales on there. are you guys actually getting enough to make it worthwhile?

Sales have been picking up for me lately. And I'm about $4 away from my first DT payout.

Now  that I upload regularly, my sales are increasing to something between 5-20 dollars a month. i think I will now be ablle to get one payout every 12 months. I hope one day it will be a payout every 3 months. But I probably need a lot more files for that.

I like that dreamstime accepts files very quickly and what sells on dreamstime is very different to what sells on adobe or elsewhere.

Actually the designers on dreamstime often buy my favorite files that nobody wants elsewhere.

I also stopped uploading to Deadtime.   It's simply not worth time & effort for <10 / month.   In many ways DT symbolizes everything that is wrong with microstock - total lack of QA that resulted with swamp of low quality content.  In addition to silly payout policy, rigged photo contests etc.   It's a shame because it was once really great agency.

I'm $10 short and then, cash out. The plan is, close the account. If they get some spare change, after that, I don't care. I know some people do better, but aside from easy reviews, the 35¢ downloads, just don't add up to $100 fast enough. Maybe 2025 or 2026?  :(
