Title: keyword translation
Post by: eyeCatchLight on September 20, 2009, 11:20
Hello,

my keywords are not translated to other languages for a photo... is that normal? I am new to Dreamstime, how can I contact support to tell them about this?

Thank you!
S.

Keywords are not translated in your portfolio, only in search results.
Try this :  put the site on the chosen language and do a search with translated keywords.  Be sure to use words that cannot be translated otherwise, because the automatic translations REALLY make a mess of it.  It's easiest if you put the search on "newest first" and then type keywords for one of your newest images.  If you find your image, you'll see the keywords are translated.
Be sure to sit down when you do this, cause the translated results are truly hilarious!
(at least they are in Dutch, may-be not in other languages).

So true!
I once downloaded the Dutch version of their model release... the translation is so poor i'm sure when/if it comes to a claim it has no validity whatsoever; it's just a bunch of gibberish!

Translation is the most valid reason I see in IS's disambiguation years ago.  It can make all the difference in a translation.  It's a pity it deviated from this, but it must be nevertheless a strength in their international sites.
