Just after a little clarification since I'm new to this, I though a model release was only required if you could identify a person, however here is an image I submitted:

The message was:
The image includes recognizable humans. It cannot be accepted without a model release signed by your subject(s). If the people within your photo are not the main subject but their faces are visible, then you also need a MR for each person whose face is visible. You can download the model release document from the following address: ...

I'm just not exactly sure what I'm missing, could anyone share, no face are visible, only backs.

I'm positive that the people in the photo would be able to recognize themselves and that is what counts.

They are very very recognizable!
Take care this can be the most expensive thing you can face in this industry, its more dangerous to the photographer than pictures of designprotected stuff etc if it may end in a lawsuit. There are always enough other things to photograph in this example you could have made a close-up-photograph of your own hand holding the climbing chain this would have been at least equally stockworthy and you wouldn't risk your financial future.

The main subject of the image is a person, a model release is required even if the face is not visible. You can download the model release document from the following

DT is very strict about model releases.  Above is the rejection note I got on a picture of my wife hiking.  Thankfully, this one is easily resolved.   ;)

Ah, I was under the impression it had a lot to do with faces and such, I guess that makes sense.

Oh well, I can't even remember which of my friends is which and who was each, next photo I guess.

Thanks, I'll get this stock photo stuff figured out in the end. ^_^

Speaking of MRs, does anyone have a generic one that all sites accept? Some sites seem to have slightly different requirements than others.

A lot of people can look at the clothing and location and determine if they are in an image. It's best to get a release for any image with a person it.

no, people are NOT recognizable, at least not all of them, but, warren is right - that's dt's policy which is "said" at the very start - so, there is no space for being angry. - if you can achieve mr's, - o.k., and if  you can't - well - give up with this image on dt, and that's it.
