I just shot a model who lives on a farm.  On the farm the grid roads are not named - and mail is obviously not delivered 30 minutes out  in the country.

The farmer gets his mail in town.

On the model release there is a spot for an address.  I put the PO box where the model gets his mail but it was rejected because an address 'can't have a PO box for the address'

Does this mean that people who live on farms can't be models?  Does Dreamstime want a land declaration (which is what they would use if it was sold and 'where' had to be described ... like this SE 16-33-31-1) or what is the proper procedure?

I also started a thread on Dreamstime.  I'll post if I find out anything there.

Just fill in the actual address where they reside, add at the bottom of the release a note with the PO box adress.

Yeah, but there is no address where they reside.  The roads are not named and the houses are not numbered in any way.

I got a response from Nikitu on Dreamstime now as well.  They said.

You have to specify the reason why there is a PO box instead of a normal address on your model release. Editors can't know this.
Also please contact us by email if you require more information.

If the roas appear in a map it must have a number or something. If not, I would put ROAD XY (from Village x to Village Y)

On the map there is no number or anything. Some of the larger roads have numbers but not the smaller ones.

It doesn't matter though, Dreamstime gave a good solution.  You just have to state the reason why there is no address and it will be OK.

HEY, I resemble that facebook link, but for the record I have never said Let er buck.

When I was much younger I worked on a couple Sask history books and the locations (the home quarter) were stated as coordinates of latitude and longitude - which never really meant much to me - or simply "we moved into the old Taylor farm in '69".

Leaf, I seem to remember having this exact conversation 3 or 4 years ago.

I know that this is a DT specific thread, but wasn't there a thread not too long ago that IS has relaxed their "no post office box" rule?

Maybe we "rural" photographers will need to make box to be initialed for P.O. Box Models where we can add a line like:

I cannot provide a street address on this Release as I reside on an unnamed road in a rural area in the municipality of ________________________ , in the Province of ______________________.   All correspondence should be directed to the post office box indicated above.

It must be pure hell for emergency services when there is a heart attack or a farm accident!

haha, yeah that wouldn't be so dumb with that extra line :)

Most of those Sask statements are true for me - although I'm not living there anymore.

Yes, that is right, IS now accepts PO boxes as long as you give a reason.

Well for farms they use the land declaration.. every farmer knows what their quarter is called .. like 13.12.08.  I remember learning the 'numbers' for our farm in case of an emergency.  But yeah, I am sure there are mix ups.  Go to the 'old johnsons' place, then three miles east, one mile north and half a mile west... i'm there stuck in a combine.... except cell phone reception is so bad you probably would be calling anyhow.
