"The previous record of $4,500 for a SR-EL license was exceeded today with a $5,100 sale. The file was acquired with exclusive SR-EL rights by a chocolate producer.

The image listed on the left is for illustration purposes only. The acquired file was very similar, but it is not this file. We cannot post the original here, but I thought this info would be useful to contributors and to everyone analyzing our industry.

And just as a side note, being exclusive matters. Royalties awarded to the non exclusive photographer would be $2,550. The exclusive additional royalties for such sale add $510 more, which is not bad at all."

Only thing is, you didn't select the whole address as a hyperlink and I kept getting 'Unknown error'.

Actually, the whole link was there, I just didn't surround it by [url] tags. That usually isn't a problem, so it must be the dashes in the link that were causing a problem.

Anyway, sorry for the confusion, it's fixed now.

I don't have SR-EL licensing on my images either, but after that I am seriously considering it.

I don't have Sell the Rights selected for any of mine but I've wanted to. The only issue is most of my images are also on a site that requires the images to be there for a period of time before they can be removed. If you get a Sell the Rights, you need to remove the image from all other sites. Or am I mistaken?

That is correct. I would only do this with images exclusive on DT, as it could cause big problems if the image was downloaded on another site after selling the rights. I wouldn't want to give that refund.

You must remove the image from all other sites within 72 hrs.

Soooo, I wonder if it's worth ditching/avoiding sites that require time periods in favor if selecting SR-EL. DT is my #2 in sales and seems to be picking up nicely. Anybody here have any SR-ELs and/or opinions on that approach?

Your statement is ironic, because DT requires images to be online for a minimum of 6 months.

Oooooooh, wasn't aware of that. I really have a hard time tracking all of the different requirements of these sites. I need to put together a spreadsheet or something.

But hey, if you can ditch sites that are low earners and require minimum time, and expand EL sales at DT, wouldn't this make sense? I guess it depends on how often ELs happen.
