Over the past few weeks I've had my first exclusive sale at DT, very happy with that and with the $550 that brought me :)

Wow that's great news. I heard that it happens sometimes on DT. Any chance of posting the link here of the photo? Maybe some more photographers can post theirs too.

Because we are still making a lot of money there and like the company a lot.   What internal conflicts, the site seems to run a lot better than most? I haven't heard of a lot people quitting so you should give detalils not just come in and make statements like that.

Ssuper seems to be trying to stir things up. He's only made 3 posts and one of his others is

"Fotolia, my friends, is for sale...That means your images, and revenue, are being negotiated, as we speak. or as you read this..."

The other post of his upset people before he edited it.

Leaf I think you should consider banning this troll.

Personally I love DT and it's in my top three sites, next to SS and IS.  I don't ever the point of quitting a site, it's not like being with a ms site can cause you negative income so once images are up, might as well leave them there. My EXL image was just a smiple background image of some clouds against a blue sky, which only proves that what usually sells in microstock doesn't have to be out of this world art.... I'm now trying to tailor my shooting to be more what sells as opposed to what I like, a question of balance really to prevent me from hours of editing low commercial potential images... :)

The question wasn't put to me, I will give an answer anyway. Before that, who are the lot of people quitting DT - Contibuters or buyers? Why are they quitting? If they are buyers, it doesn't have any effect on me, because this is my best month ever, its only the 20th and I'm at my second best month ever +50%. If contributors are quitting, good for me, less competition.
The reason why I'm still contributing:
1   DT is my no 1 earner: at this stage more than SS and iS combined.
2.  As far as I'm concerned the friendliest site with the most helpfull staff.
3.  I have an acceptance rate well over 90%, beaten only by Yay (and that doesn't count).

Its probably Shank with a secret account ;) If not then thats rubbish without any proof. DT is the smoothest running, has the friendliest people and sales are always consitent so I suggest you give us some actual proof of people quitting and these so called internal conflicts

As long as this piece of info leaked to competitors (or whoever) who have too much time on their hands, I think our contributors need to be correctly informed.

Ellen will no longer write the blog from March, as she will write a book about stock photography (which is truly great for the entire industry). The announcement was to be made during the next week with her last article. We believe she did a great job with her blog, leaves a very good resource for all our users (even outside photographers who read them from time to time). Please keep in mind that the blog was published for more than 2 years now and it covers all subjects extensively. Nonetheless, the Blogs! are now a significant resource of our site and continue to grow.

Of course, each departure is difficult, we had such a great time together. There is no such thing as internal conflicts, many persons leaving etc. No one else is leaving, in fact we've just increased our sales force and the editors' team. Most probably this person learned the news from us at UGC and tried to use it in such a 'nice' way.

To end up on a positive note, we have some great features just to be released, great plans for marketing and new records being surpassed daily and monthly. This thread was too much offtopic so I'll stop here. :)

thx Achilles.

Thanks for the update, Achilles.  I wasn't worried, both because my interactions with Dreamstime have all been positive, and because Ssuper's note read like someone spreading malicious gossip for his own nefarious reasons.
