Low quality & simple old illustrations (more than 2~3 yrs old) selling very well on DT. But new high quality images not even getting views sometimes. (my portfolio is with 2900 illustrations and 40000+ sales. 98% of the sales are from old images every month) How about your experience.?

Zalee, you are doing really well compared to me. I joined DT in January 2016. I have 219 images and only 2 sales. My images don't even show up in searches. When I searched for pine, pine cone and cinnamon start all sorts of images came up but not mine even though other images didn't have a cinnamon star. I am doing very well on SS. My food images don't sell. What kind of images do you take that you sold so well on DT? I search for my images, scroll through 20 pages or more and they are nowhere. They do show up when I search on other websites.

New files/uploads have never sold well at DT. I really don't know what they are playing at but how much brains does it take to understand that new files are our livelihood for tomorrow.

Its their livelihood they are interested not ours...not really selling much of any age at DT seems to be flatlining to me.

Theoretically but unless buyers are crying out for new and innovative images then not really when they have around 50m images there

I'm sorry, I've only just seen this. Well 25 is not many but it really varies as I have a bit of everything in my port. I've sold some editorial, some people, even nature such as butterflies and flowers and also some travel. I'm not sure why you can't find your images, if I put my actual title in I can usually find them.

nothing sell new old medium old....i suspect most of big earners did their number like me between 2006-2013..last two years  dreamstime is not selling nothing.
and you can see easily in the column of pool results...dreamstime was 3 now is even behind 123

Come on dude, keep it accurate... you're not selling nothing. Or 'anything', as the case may be. What evidence do you have to show that Dreamstime is not selling nothing? You sales figures don't reflect Dreamstime's as a whole.

you have 11 sales in dreamstime...are you serious?

i have more than 8000 sales...and i'm not shooting at all content stock oriented..mostly travel and editorial...
last two year in dreamstime are outrageous. worst agency by far...and it was a solid 3 place fro me...idf it has slipped in middle tier there is something going on...it was the 3 agency for most.

How does the number of sales I've had at Dreamstime, have anything to do with my ability to point out that... just because you've had a drop in sales.... doesn't mean that Dreamstime are going out of business?

The fact you do think it makes a difference, makes me put even less stock in your opinion.

Thats true but Looking at the poll on the right which is probably the best evidence we've got I remember DT being top tier now they are near the bottom of the middle tier. Sadly that's my experience I always liked them and they seemed to sell what I thought of as my "better" images

strangely yesterday had 26 sales in one day..mostly 0,38, all from a brazil travel batch, and two bigger for 14 dollar...all after i complaint:)

i'm not saying dreamstime will go out of business. i'm just pointing out my and other experience.
it was solid third for many now has slipped in the middle tier near low earners.

DTs default search is for 'Best Seller' as opposed to 'Most Relevant'. So old photos that have slowly built up sales keep getting pushed to the top (therefor sell more, stay top etc). Meanwhile your newer maybe more relevant and better quality photo is kept low down where there's less chance of selling because it hasn't sold.

Easy to see If you try searching yourself.
Why most folk on their forums who claim the site is still doing well signed up in the early 2000s where there was less competition, their photos sold so now are still top of the pile.

in january i had a come back minor ...45 dollar earned not bd considering the last month...but i have checked practically any new file from 2015 is simply not selling.zero. probably of 2000 i have made 20 dollar....dreamtime push only very old files...tha's why very old uploader are still selling normally.

dreamstime must do something about this.

The thing is they are adding images at a phenomenal rate upto 54 million I don't know how their sales compare with SS but this will spread the jam very thin!

In my experience new images have never taken off on DT like they have on SS or other sites. They also used to have some sort of rotation of portfolios so you would get periods of decent sales with periods of very low sales in between. I think they said this was to make it fair. More likely to keep people from giving up entirely.

It does seem that old stuff is mostly what sells, but almost completely subs. The rare credit sales are what makes or breaks a month as far as total income goes though. As those become even less common I suppose it is the ratio of $2 subs to .35 subs.

Like every site the jam is getting spread thinner and thinner and the sites are taking more and more of it to start with.

nothing sell...upload good batch of 500 this month nothing moved....12 download for 4 dollar...i will not upload anything to this site anymore till i see a recovery...worst than can stock...they have an appalling research algorithm who favorite only old ugly file...thats why u see many old contributor with terrible images still selling much better than more skilled contributor.

I know a lot of people dislike this agency but they still do better than FT for me. There must be some reason buyers keep shopping there. Yes, no new images sell though. Maybe it is because I started in 2008 ...

what  bothers me really is that you cannot edid the keywords like in fotolia for some reason.when i first started at them i uploaded pics, from a cell phone and i didnt think of many good keywords to ad and mostly becouse english is not my first language. Also  i didnt find this useful keyword tool on this site to help me bit,so i only had 2 sales so far.
not to mention about rejections i dont get  >:(

That's strange. I can edit keywords quite easily in Dreamstime. Just go to 'Edit' to the right of the image in "Your online files" and then do as much editing as you like.

When I read the forums over on Dreamstime, I cannot understand the mindset of some people there. There are some individuals who are exclusives on DT and they admit that their sales are poor and they're saying that they're hoping that there will come a time when good sales will return. Though if sales are poor, wouldn't it be better to dump exclusivity and upload to some other stock agencies? I just don't get this loyalty they have to Dreamstime.

And some individuals state that they became exclusive on DT because Dreamstime is the best stock agency and because they were treated poorly on other sites. It all sounds a bit vague to me with no real specifics. What makes Dreamstime the best stock agency (in their viewpoint)? And in what ways were they treated poorly on other stock agencies?

me too.
i have day of more sales even then ss...sure not great money. but still pulling more than 100 dollar every month, thanks to 5 6 days of 15 dollar with sales of 7 6 dollar. fotolia for me is a rebus. i suspect i have mostly editorial and travel and fotolia is more for concept and classic micro stock.

Lol. I always thought 'Dreamstime' was an unusual name for a stock photo agency. Perhaps they're in a deep slumber right now.
