as i figure it (despite the skeptics on this site :) ) there is about 1 week before we should be submitting our images to win the prize in the 1,000,000 image on dreamstime.  So stock pile your images and get ready.  I will start a new thread when it is THE best time to submit (according to my calculations anyhow)

Maybe it will conveniently coincide with the new pricing increase, but they will have to do some serious reviewing. oohh we reached a Million now our prices change.  ;D

don't the price increases happen in 2 days, on the 15th.

I think it will be around 12 days before they reach 1,000,000 images.

Thanks for the heads-up. I will just keep uploading as normal I guess and keep my fingers crossed that one of mine gets to be the millionth. To be honest, I am more excited about the price increases. Bored of seeing $0.50 or $1 for images!!

According to DT, it seems that the new prices won't take affect until next week.  They didn't give a date, but I would guess on Monday, 02/19/07.

Does a picture at DT enter the review process (time stamp) only after submitted or already after upload? In other words: Do we have to time the ftp upload or the submission for review?
Since I just figured out that FTP upload was prevented by my Windows firewall I have a huge backlog of pictures to submit to DT.

i think the time stamp starts when you first upload your images, be it ftp or website.

I can not find the stat page that shows how many pictures are waiting for review. The last number was 17000 with 15000 to go to the millionth. But now I can not find that page NO MO.

Good luck to everybody to get that bounty.

The page is here

Looks like people are starting to submit a little faster now... we need to watch this closely :)  The optimum time to submit is going to be early tomorrow or tonight sometime.

Currently
Pending files: 22153
Online files:    985701

That means the uploaders now will get possition about
22153 / 2 (approx 50% accepted) = 11076
11076 + 985701 = 996 777

So about 7 500 more photos to be submitted then the time will be ripe :)

Well it is the weekend, so reviewers probably aren't reviewing too much.  People are still uploading though.

no no, 2500 images have to be submitted to dreamstime before the time is 'ripe' to win the prize. :)

I only have 100 images saved up.  That is the max i can submit in a day so there is no point in having more.

Ah right. I have like 16 pending now, I'm not really doing anything special to try and win. Submitting 1-4 a day per usual.

900 images... and counting

probably in about half an hour we should start uploading.

ok, i think i may be the only one who cares about this, but in case we have some 'passive' viewers here, I will keep my blabbering.

I wonder if dreamstime is starting to not update their stats so often now.  it is taking a while for them to change.  Perhaps they don't want people to be able to calculate when they should upload :) ...

edit:  allright, I think they are still updating things. I am just getting impatient.  ;)
