Hey everyone, I've been on DT for a year now with close to 260 images up. I've had images that have sold well on SS, iStock and even 123rf but are not moving on DT. I've earned just $20 till now on DT

Could it be my low acceptance rate? I started with sending them a huge chunk of my collection and most got rejected leaving me with a 40% acceptance rate. Although it's going up now, but could this be the reason for my low sales?

I think a better phrasing would be should i just give up this account, make a new one and start afresh so i can maintain a high acceptance rating

Don't worry about AR on DT. As my AR increases my earnings decrease. I miss the days of low AR and nice earnings.

Does a bad AR push you down in search rankings?

Your subject matter, framing, and keywording seem to be the much bigger problems.  I looked at two of your photos and the number one keyword for both of them was not included.  I doubt they would allow you to start a new account but acceptance rate is most likely a very minor factor.

When I started a couple years ago I had a similar acceptance rating and my sales were bad.

Now my overall acceptance rating is in the high 80s and my sales are still bad.

I've read several times that you get favored if your rating is above 80% but I sure haven't noticed a difference.

Yes, you title and keyword images of a woman's feet as "Mehendi (henna) designs on hands of woman". Take another look at your keywords and titles, which are important on DT. Titles are weighted in the search results. They won't let you delete everything and start a new account especially if your tax and payment details are for the same person.

Isn't it correct that the higher your acceptance rate, the more images DT allows you to upload per week? I think that's right.

I also looked at your images on DT, and immediately spotted one typo that could hurt sales of that image:

The word "sings" in the title should be "signs."   That simple reversal of g and n makes a big difference!

I see these typos now.... And it seems that I've been making these all over the place.

As I see,  AR has nothing to do with sales, it limits the number of images you are allowed to upload. At 80-85% (even lower) you are allowed 7000 images/week, I couldn't upload that quota in 10 years.

They are low earners for nonexclusive contributors. I just wanted to ask if they are closed or what?

I made my first payout after two years of contributing. After the first payout things got a bit better but this month is my WME, $4.40 earnings with an AR of 94.4% and 1000+ images.

My earning balance is $94.31 at the moment and I was hoping to reach payout this month. That didn't happen and with these sales I may cash out at best in 2-3 month.
It seams the closer you are to payout, the more they push you back.

Yeah, that 100$ dollar mark to get payout is ridiculous. It took me one year, to reach payout. They should really lower that to 50$. And why is dreamstime considered as one of "big 4" is beyond me. For me, all time earnings there are less then those at bigstock or 123rf.

How much do you make in other agencies ? Is it a really big difference?

I've already had a number of payouts on shutterstock and istock. I'm hitting a $20 a month mark

I've even made $50+ on 123rf

Not all, but most of your pictures lack the commercial usability & that is maybe the reason you are not making much....

I've begun to realize that by now and hopefully my new work is better than before. Would love tips or links to advise on that too

i dont think that acceptance rate may inflict the sales in any site...

the fact is that there are some best selling sites and lower...

there are some sites that never sale even when thousands of images
DT is one of the best anyway

but for all, you need to upload a lot to gain some money, its an hard work ;)

izzikiorage, you have good potential pictures, but they are few, keep on shooting and uploading :)

be thankful because it really does not matter if you got them approved or not.
it takes you as long as a year to more to reach payout with comatose-dreamstime
than it takes you a month , two at the most on ss.
