Title: Spelling rejections very strange
Post by: louoates on March 25, 2009, 09:51
Is this a new rejection for anyone?:

Reason: - There are misspelled words in the title, description and/or keywords of your image OR the info submitted is in a language other than English...

Example: File named "FerrisWheel" was rejected although all the spelling was correct in the description and keywords.

This could be a major problem for all who upload to DT with abbreviations or numbers in the file titles. I haven't heard back from DT support about this new wrinkle.

Can you post ALL of the info about the file?

Something is odd going on in their keyword software. I found out they totally dump keywords with-a-hyphen or 1-2 letter words that aren't in a common dictionary, like Fu (Kung Fu). They also convert upper to lower case which might trigger spell-checkers.

I got this, among some other comments, in a rejection resently. It was a bit annoying, because my foreign words are the name of the festival I had taken pictures of. A buyer could easily use these words in a search. Of course I can make a comment to the editor about that, but it has never been a problem before.
