I'm so glad I read this post, I had no idea that was happening, I got several of those sales which is awesome but I can't help but wonder if it is effecting SS sales as I have noticed in the same time frame a decrease in sales in SS which if that is the case I am not sure if its a good thing or bad.

17 $2 sales in the past 3 days, and many are shots that are not typicalk bestsellers, which more than doubles my sales for February.  Thank you, Dreamstime and Google, presumably!

How are they reported?   I opted out right away, but still I am seeing $2 subscription sales from this weekend.

That's a different program - 5 and 10 image subscription packs. Check the forums.

Are you talking about SS ODDs? (just asking as this is the DT thread). If you are, then I had 2 ODDs on the same image twice, in 3 years. :)

I was talking about these DT $ 2.00 sales but yes it was ambiguous.

Are these the equivalent of SS on Demand Downloads or the 25 a Day? And what did DT used to pay for this type of download?

I think they are 1-time sales. Now Google can use them for a year, or something like that. But Serban promised there was more to share but he couldn't at that time. I am very curious as to what he will share that can possible be good for contributors. Contributors sure could use some good news that's got longevity to it as opposed to a one-time gig.

Is there some place on DT that lists the details of these sales with Google, because if Google gets to use them for a year that can be very bad especially if they distribute them to others for a year.

ok here is the answer to my own question

"The details of the program that we can share with you at this time are that Google has selected a large number of images from our collection for use in display ads: Google will be able to use pre-selected Dreamstime RF images only for ads, and in limited sizes to accommodate ads. During the beta period, images will not be available in a template library. These images will be used under the Royalty Free license in a beta for the next 12 months, and contributors will receive royalties soon. The royalties for the first 12 months will be based on our all-at-once subscriptions i.e., $2.00 (non exclusive) and $2.20 (exclusive) per image.

As we do with other initiatives, Dreamstime supports the volume discounts and we expect to at least double our regular royalty rate. The volume discount also reflects the use case, since these images will be used in limited-sized ads and not in more prominent uses."

Is it too Late to Opt out of This, have they already made the purchases or are there more to be made? I just opted out of alliances but maybe it does not matter now!

Mine seem to have dried up as suddenly as they started - are other people finding this or is it just me? Or wondering if perhaps they batch 'em up and pay out at the end of a week perhaps?

The surge in $2 sales was part of the new Google deal.   They were added in a couple of batches over a coupke of days.  Now they are finished.  We are back to the regular sales and the few $2 sales from people who buy that subs package.

Yes, the $2 festivities are over, and now the images will be given away to an unlimited number of buyers with an unlimited number of downloads

I have a bunch of cartoons,
either vector or JPG, since the 23th I sold 8 of them for 2.00, however I only have 100 images on dreams, cause I never uploaded more there...

But I'm getting the sales for some of the same images..and some show the search term so I dont know where is coming from. Is that from google? how would you know?
