Have you deleted a bunch of images recently? If you do (and I forget what the percentage of your portfolio is that triggers this) then the remainder get marked this way.

There was a post a while back where Achilles defended the practice saying they had to lock out people who were disabling a lot of images as some who wanted out prior to the 6 month lock were writing inappropriate descriptions, titles, keywords, in their files.

Actually, if I recall some 6 months or so back, the same thing happened to one of my flat-mates. She too thought it was someone gunning for her. In fact , had she not gone in to one of the images to edit the keywords, ( who knows how long that had been going on) it would still have been there.

I am not sure if DT has a keyword police where contributors can in fact report you and get you to be "gunned" . But  at that time, she certainly felt too that it was the devious work of some ( to quote her) no f**k**g good  mofo  sh** head (unquote her)  lol .. yes, she was justifiably furious.

Anyway, to cut the long story short, she wrote Support and they told her it was a glitch.  I am sure this will be resolve with you writing Support, as I know Achilles is totally against anyone trying to abuse with anything at DT.

Whatever, if it was in fact someone gunning for you, well. it won't be too difficult for Achilles and or Support to trace who it was .

I don't know if she did delete or deactivated some images to cause it.
She's moved to another city so I can't ask her promptly. But whatever,
I do know she did get it resolved.

I'm waiting to hear back from them again on the wait period plus added what I found out about disabling/deleting a few of my images.  If I remember correctly I told them I'm not leaving nor am I going exclusive anywhere.  So who knows what's going on.  I sent that email earlier this morning and haven't heard back from them.  I looked at my files a few minutes ago and it's still that way.

I wish it would have information about what actually is going on instead of making it look like I had bad keywords.  It's ridiculous.

Glad your friend got he stuff worked out.  Just wish I knew how long it's going to stay like that.

As of this morning it's been fixed.  I guess I won't disable a bunch of my files again

Anita, I am being to feel a bit apprehensive too, re. deactivating my images from my own port ..
in the future. I was in fact contemplating on this, as I feel some of the images are just non starters,
and perharps thinking of giving it to some other sites . Esp the ones that I gave to DT as exclusives.
I did asked Achilles if there was a time limit before we can release our exclusiveness off those images, but he did not respond to me on that.
Still, if getting "gunned" is the consequence of you deleting or de-activating your images,
wow, that's kinda mean, isn't it?  What happens next?

I never thought the problem of deletion was a big deal initially. In fact, I never saw the use or misuse
for having the delete button available. eg. StockXpert, IS, FT all have DELETE buttons and we can delete them anytime. 

(I have used them but only to delete a batch after I got a rejection of one image from the batch, so I could correct that rejection problem and uploaded them again. But never to delete a bunch of approved images).


But now , I am beginning to think it will be a vital point for me whether I am going to contribute to a site or not.
 I understand it might be justified if we deleted those images within 90 days, even banks penalize you for the other stock shifting act. But if we had an image over one year or two, or even 5 , why shouldn't we be able to delete them without drama ?

Yes, no doubt. that may also be so.
But if you penalize even the innocent ones, you run the risk of getting these ppl like Anita, and my roommate, etc... to feel it's no longer a bona fide relationship. This will prompt them to go elsewhere, or even stop uploading .

How do we find if an image was marked for bad keywords?

If I remember, my roommate has all the keywords greyed out with a warning like
YOU CANNOT EDIT YOUR KEYWORDS WITHOUT CONTACTING EDITOR.
or something like that.

TOTALLY freaked her out !

Then you have to go image by image?   

I'm pretty sure there is a long, confrontational thread on DT about this.  I think it had to do with paying people to report bad keywords.  Once reported, you are guilty until proven innocent.

Under the contributor tab click on my online files you do have to go image by image like stated.  Click on edit and scroll down to the keywords section if it's not greyed out and have that long text to the right of that box saying your keywords have been rightfully marked as being bad or something like that your fine.

I'm just happy it's been fixed and I can move on to other things that baffle me...like the tremendous amount of wind we're having today
