I can now upload over 3000 images a week at Dreamstime. That a major increase. I must have missed something because my limits were never this high.

And they seem to be accepting it all. Too many images!!!! I just looked at a new port where someone is shooting anything and everything he/she ever had for lunch, not staged or lit well with dirty utensils, grease splatters, poor colors and cropped wacky. Why?

To compete directly with a certain group of new images from newishbies at iStock? ::)
(Or maybe they're some of the same?)

I just uploaded 80 or so images and had some rejections of very good images where they say focus is out or we have too many of these already. So they are still rejecting. My sales haven't grown there in years, always $150 ish a month, whether 1,000 images or 2800 images. Any because of their video commissions, I have the opportunity to not support a company who does not pay squat for videos, so I am not uploading my stuff there. My goal is to spend the year building a video port to complement my stills, so I guess DT won't be getting anything from me for at least a year. Most of us couldn't shoot 3,000 images in that short a period anyway, which tells me they are trying to apply the 999 IS logic, as Shady suggested.

Sounds like they are really to submit to the higher end stock companies... 8)

In last about 6 months (or maybe year now) DT accept 90-100%. Similarities are good for them too. Changes, big changes here and I wouldn't say it's going right way... I don't see more $ because of acceptance rate.
iStock symptom?
Is that how big micro agency ends?

I don't have the same experience. Similarities are still being rejected in my case. My acceptance % is about the same as it used to. The truth is however, that uploading lot more images hasn't generated lot more income for me. :-\
From my point of view, I don't think limiting number of uploads has too much of a positive effect for an agency these days. I upload the same images to all agencies, whether they have upload limits or no limits... it only takes longer time to upload to those with limits. I have hundreds of images ready in queue to upload to VEER (50/week limit) and Crestock (75/week limit). All my images will eventually be uploaded there, only it'll happen several months later than at other agencies => losing out on sales, both agency and me.

By having large upload limits it'll allow ex IS exclusives to upload their entire portfolio quickly to DT rather than dribs and drabs. It also allows photographers who've never done stock but have a large catalog of good photos to upload their collection a bit quicker (might not be the case but just a thought)
