I must admit that they are very inventive at Dreamstime to retrieve more money without further effort. After having introduced enlarged images, familiarized buyers that these images are clearly indicated (“this image was upsized…”) they have removed this information, in silence (old good DT's strategy). How many buyers will be fooled thinking download a big picture? A “medium” sized photograph may sell for a maximum of credits. Brilliant. Naysayers will say that it is not honest. Legally it is ok, buyers agree conditions when downloading. Otherwise they can buy a pocket calculator and count the total number of pixels and compare it to the original size indicated under the picture. A sale is a sale and more credits are more credits.
BTW, I always checked in for monthly newsletter. Never got it. Anyone else in this case?

Actual size of the image is clearly indicated on mouse-over. I guess the upscaling is a service for which it is not unreasonable to charge an additional credit or two for.
With the number and quality of images available, together with the RF license, I don't think any buyer can possibly consider themselves ripped off at these prices. If anyone is being ripped-off it is us the contributors but that's our choice and market forces.

What hypocrisy - this information was there before. Dt removed it in September.

Alamy for example gets their photographers to do the upsizing. Alamy won't even know how much the image has been upsized.

They know approximately. If image was badly or too much upsized it can't pass QC. Trained eye of Alamy inspector is good enough to see that. Thus, there might be some images which passed beyond inspectors... But, they disable such files as soon as they get notice about them.
BTW, on Shutterstock almost all images uploaded with less than 12Mpix are getting upsized by double width and double height. Nothing to be upset about!
