1600$ is too much.

1200$ I would give for a body, but 1600 no.

Lucky you dpreview lists the list price for body as $ 1,299. Pretty close to the 1200.

Thank you very much for the suggestion but actually I am not thinking of buying 50d but even if I did get it from the US in the end  with the custom taxes the price will be equal to UK prices.unfortunately that is always the case:(

Shipping costs + import tax + us warranty (for bodys the world wide warranty isn't enough in my country, works only on lenses). Still better to buy from uk (just watch out where the item is located, you may pay import tax for those hong kong cameras here in europe).

15mpx is not enough for XXL in most of the micros, but it seem a good camera anyway. It's allow to resize or crop and maintaining the 12mpx XL, on IS at least.

I'm not a Canon expert but do this look like to be the new 5D everybody was waiting for??

I hope not,and it can't be because this is the replacement of 40d  and not a full frame DSLR  replacement of 5d is supposed to be full frame at least to my point of view.

OK! I thought it was a full frame, then people will have to wait again

So what size at IS will these images sell under, XL or XLL?

XL, it's 1mp short of XXL.

Yeah but then you have to clear the EXIF since IS looks at it. Some people have had shots rejected for upsizing when it was a stiched image :D

I have some panoramas or stiched pictures rejected by this reason at IS. E.g. I put two full size images together (nice image though), but they said that image was resized from original 5d resolution... :) Tried upload twice with better description but no go:)

You can upsize 5% at IS but that would still only give you around 15.8MP. Not sure if that's close enough for XXL.

if you shoot isolations, you can add white space a little bit also in PS. :D

I think it's SS that allows %5 upsizing I am not sure if IS allows it too.
as for extra white space I do that from time to time if I believe it will improve the composition but I know sometimes they don't allow i either unless it is very small amount.

enough of this 300d 450d 50d 40d 1ds etc. etc.. i want the 5D already!!!!

I'm with you. Waited after the Spring rumors, now I'm waiting again. I'll keep the 40D, but I want a full frame.

Also from the rumor mill, G10. I hope they remembered to put a remote shutter release of some sort on this one?
