Canon Vixia HF G10 & XA10 Video Cameras. Nice or not?

(1/2) > >>

Hey, I just saw these two cameras on BH.. does anyone have any opinions on them.  They seem like pretty nice point and shoot / prosumer cameras.  I have a little HV30 but these look like they would definitely be a step up yet keep the form factor small.
Perhaps the 5D video still trumps what you can do with these?

I am also interested to see how the Vixia HF G10 performs. Any reviews out there yet?

I believe it has a f/1.8 lens, which means you can also do shallow DOF stuff, like you do with a DSLR.

no you can't get anywhere close to DSLR shallow DOF with the sensor size 1/3"
