yeah, i saw that on dpreview (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0809/08091501Zeissforcanon.asp) too :)
so I guess these are third party lenses, or are they official cooperating with Canon
Are the zeiss lenses that much better than canon lenses or are they going to be a 'good cheap alternative' to canon.
-
it is hard to say they if they are better than Canon lenses but to my knowledge Zeiss lenses are one of the top quality lenses you could find in the market (I wouldn't compare them with third party lenses like Sigma tamron etc )
Sony has been using zeiss lenses and I guess it is the lens why many people go for sony.
zeiss lenses also tend to be very expensive and the recommended prices for upcoming EF bayonet lenses show it clearly k:)
quoted from dpreview:Recommended retail price of both lenses:
Planar T* 1.4/50 ZE
$ 660
Planar T* 1.4/85 ZE
$ 1,170

they are manual i personally prefer that i have the option for AF.
But if they offer a wideangle-lens it would be a good option because Canon sucks regarding wide-angle.

oh silly me I didn't realize it first they only offer manual lenses,which is nothing new as those manual lenses have already being used on EF bodies with ebay lens adapters. now I am disappointed:(

Do you think eventually they will manufacture AF lens? They do this for Sony so I guess all they need is Canon cooperation and full specification of EF mount, right?
