Nope. They can only be used in begginer mode and tripod mode. All other modes do now work with the side sensors. I know from experience. Crashed mine agains a castle wall because I was not aware of this and did a risky maneuver. Fortunately it only shaped away 1 cm of the propellers. Amazing bird although quite big.

Has anyone flying the P4P found the side and back obstacle avoidance cameras to be useful or necessary?

Im wondering theyre worth the extra $?
They can be useful, especially when you are in a difficult situations and have to hit the return to home button.
If I remember correctly they are in disabled in tripod mode and Tap to fly, two modes that I use a lot for filming

A few more rumors have leaked on the web on the last few days.
The Mavic 2 should be released towards the end of March with a new gimbal, a 1" sensor and a bigger size.
Also talks about a new Phantom 5 to be priced around $2000, but no specs announced yet

More and more rumours about the new European unified drone rules which should also impact the UK.
And apparently the future Mavic 2 could be withing the specs allowing flying without a permit.
I frankly don't know whether at this point it is still interesting to go for a PFCO permit in the UK.
Any comments?
