I am new at video and advices are really need.
I want to shoot basic HD videos outdoor (no studio)....no pan, no zoom, no drone, no gopro....fixed camera on tripod and simply want to push rec button and wait.
I know the following questions depends on the scene but I would be really grateful if you could share some guidelines.
A) What settings on camera? 50i or 50p?
B) How long? 10 sec? or 30?
C) What codec? PhotoJPEG, Motion JPEGA o B??
D) Is it possible crop the videos as I do for photos? For instance to straighten the Horizon

A) 50p, maybe 25p for low light situations (never use 50i, it is old. Some agencies even don't accept it)
B) 30 sec (Shoot at least 30, send around 15-20)
C) PhotoJPEG (Evey agency accept it and said to be the highest quality)
D) Yes (I use it Photoshop Premiere Elements for it. But you should use it max %3 to keep the quality.)

To add to these excellent suggestions you might consider shooting with a 4K dslr if you can swing it because it Is not only easy to crop with zero loss of quality but you can build in panning and zooming when converting a 4K to 1080p because the file is much larger than the working space of HD allowing you to create a subtle motion path.

Suggest some easy to use software as well.
I'm using my phone for 4K and DSLR for HD. what software will allow me to do basic shake reduction and then convert to a format that all photo agencies take?
