Title: remove audio in a mov file?
Post by: mtkang on April 25, 2011, 20:38
Hi all,

I have converted my avi video to a mov file with selected length. Now if i want to remove audio from that mov file, how can i do it without re-compressing the video quality again?

I am using quicktime and mpeg streamclip..

I remove the audio before saving the file.  I haven't used mpeg streamclip for a long time but there must be an option somewhere to remove the audio when you save the file.

I use Finalcut pro and before converting my avchd's to MOV, I uncheck audio channels.

I used VirtualDub http://www.virtualdub.org/ (http://www.virtualdub.org/) to remove or replace audio from .avi without recompressing video

not sure if it can read .mov though

If you are using mpeg streamclip, there is a dropdown menu to not include audio file or to change frequency - it's on the primary page after you load file.
