I was extremely excited about Featurepics in the beginning. I was getting consistent sales at a lower volume but with the high payout it was one of my best incomes. For the past 6 weeks it has just been almost dead for me. I'm hardly getting any income from it. I assume it is because they are attracting a lot more photographers and their sales aren't rising with the increase in new images.

How is everyone else doing?

Mark

After my initial uploads I had four quick sales but nothing in two weeks.

I have only 25 images there and no sale.  I had stopped submitting images to them because of their watermark - just a name in the edge of the image - but they have just begun adding a true watermark, so I'll resume submitting.

We have to give it some time.  For a new site, I think it's doing very well.  Off to a good start.  I'm very happy with what I've made there with only a few sales so far.  Wish there was something we could do to help them grow.  I guess just hang in there and keep uploading .

I have no intention of abandoning FeaturePics, but I was wondering if others were seeing the same thing I was.  I really like their business model and am definitely rooting for them.

Completely agree.  Glad to have a forum to compare success but I don't plan to "jump ship" because it's slow.

i just uploaded my first pics to featurepic en noticed i have to determin the price myself. I look at some of the other pictures to see what the average price was but there's a real big difference 1to15$ and mostly there isn't a very big difference in quality.

Am i missing something and is there a certain method to price your photographs? I would love to charge 15$, but will that get me any sales?

Thanks

Tommy

The other quirky thing about featurepics is their lack of an autosize option (though they are currently thiking/working on it) so if you upload an 8 mp picture it will only sell as a 8 mp photo. Personally i set the price at a comparable rate to what the other agencies are charging. $4-5 for an 8 mp.

Like most my sales have been very slow of late, introduction of IPTC, watermarks on their 300 pixel thumbnails and FTP have persuaded to resume uploading. Though the FTP only seemed to work on the first day since then it "critical error" every time.

Sales are slow for me, but the return is higher, so one single sale is equivalent to many in other sites.  I have recently resumed uploading - since they introduced a more significant watermark.  Most images (those I sell at micropayment sites) I set at US$2-4.

Came to a complete halt for me in mid-June. I'm not going to jump ship either, because there are things I like about the site, but probably won't upload any more until the volume picks up.

I have just joined last month. Submitted 100 pictures, had one sale so far. Great commission.

Had them send me an email, someone wanted one of my shots in B&W. Spent 10 secs. in PS. Reuploaded and sold it  If their traffic would pick up, it would be a good site.
