Title: Tax collection, now at FP
Post by: madelaide on December 05, 2010, 08:34
There goes 30% again.  I don't benefit from any US tax money, but I understand they have the right to collect some of any business done there, it's just that 30% is outrageous! To me, US tax department is the true axis of evil!

FeaturePics is required to collect US Federal tax withholding information.
Please review the information we posted under "My Tax Form" and file an appropriate Tax Form.
The "Request Payment" button has been temporarily disabled. It will be returned to service December 20, 2010.
We encourage you to submit your tax forms prior to that date to establish proper withholding rate on your earnings.
Thank you, Elena.

30% is hefty, for sure. And I agree with you. IRS = dirty rotten scoundrels

Only US sales are subject to taxes right, so it might not be so much:)

Yes, I can only wish that buyers are only Elena's connections in Russia or whatever former URSS countrye their families come from!

Adding Brazil's taxes (27.5% in my case), I make 50% only of the earnings from USA sales.   :'(

If I ever get close to a payout at FP, I'll start to bother... ::)

I am from the USA, so it doesn't much matter for me, but I did manage to get a payout right before this hit, so I imagine I won't have to give them that info for a while. I hope I'm wrong though. I am glad I don't have to deal w/ Canadian or Romanian withholding though.
