Getty Images terminate existing agreement with Flickr
jeffclow:
My guess is that this PROBABLY signals that Flickr/Yahoo is going to get into the photo selling business sooner than later.
With 500px.com launching their PRIME commercial selling initiative, its likely that Flickr/Yahoo is probably going to do something similar.
Regardless of what happens - I just hope that someone emerges from the chaos to give Getty a true competitor - and hopefully that someone will understand that the photographers are still an integral part of the equation.

It's nice to dream but in reality it will likely drive prices even lower. Yahoo certainly won't be competing on their great looking and easy to use website.
Red Dove:
A while back I would have been as happy as a fishmonger's cat over this announcement - an invitation to submit direct for Getty - thus avoiding all the kerfuffle of the past with Artist's Picks, Curator Picks and whatnot.
However, given recent events I can't help feeling underwhelmed. Have to think about this one.

From the announcement: "...Moment Mobile: ... (iOs only for now-Andriod to come)....". Is this the first time Getty is officially stating they will in fact support Android for Moment Mobile?

I think so; but with the free embed announcement, I'm probably past caring. To think, only a couple of weeks ago I was miffed because it was iPhone only, and because a lot of my E+ files weren't migrated.
Be careful what you wish for!
