Title: 30 credit X license sale
Post by: jc1305us on May 09, 2016, 05:32
A record for me (my payout was 6 credits) probably the best you can get as a entry level shooter on Fotolia correct? Anyone have anything similar?

Congratz!
I never had an X license sale in FT. 6 credits for an X license is too low  :(

That's what I'm saying! Oh well, until I hit 100 d/l's I guess that's the price.  :-\

I put all my ELs at 100 credits. I'm silver. As for the ELs, I had more ELs on Fotolia then on all other agencies combined....

I've done well with Fotolia with my admittedly tiny portfolio. Thing I like about them is that their payments vary, so I'm never quite sure how much I'm going to make. Unlike SS, who are almost ALWAYS .25. Just wish Fotolia accepted editorial...

On the Fotolia website, I read recently (regarding credit sales) :

Quote
Contributors with higher ranks can also increase their prices above the base level of white contributors. However, if a file does not sell within a period of 180 days, its price is automatically set back to the minimum. Afterwards, if the file sells three times in six months, the contributor can once again update the price.

I think it is new, right? As I understand it, the price of my X licenses will be set back to 30 credits if the file does not sale. Does someone notice that happening? It would be very problematic.

Well, my prices for EL on unsold files are still 100 credits. And it's been more then 6 months since I changed them from 30 to 100.

No, that's not about EL prices.

If you are emerald or higher, you can raise the base price (for an XS license) to two credtis (from one), all the other sizes get doubled as well.
From sapphire on you can even triple your prices.
For exclusive files you can double prices from bronze onwards and triple prices from silver onwards.

The maximum price for ELs always stays at 100 credits.

If you have done this, those files will be re-set to a base price of 1 credit for XS if they are not sold within half a year.

EL prices are not affected by that.
