The sell on Fotolia is very low because of Dollar Photo Club close. 33% less for me that is the same think for you? Bad decision to close that website:( Where do you think the buyer will go after that ?

While there has been a drop in volume, the PPI has increased. I'm seeing a lot more Adobe & Credit sales. Give them time. I've seen a drop in US sales, still low now but the $'s are increasing nicely!

Very happy DPC closed. That kind of website and name is very bad for photography as a profession, basically giving photos away. Photographers need to value their work higher and not support this kind of agency.

Overall numbers down, but RPD increase of more than 20%. Good.

I had that same reaction. After years of bitching over DPC and boycotting Fotolia and pulling out of it because of DPC, shouldn't we be delighted to see DPC tank?

I pulled out of FT a couple of years back when they launched DPC.  Last summer, after Adobe bought FT, I jumped back in, and I'm glad I did so.

The demise of DPC is good news for most of us, I suspect, not bad.

I'm as baffled as you.  Feel like I am living in a parallel universe.  Two years ago here DPC was the coming of the apocalypse, now its closing is blamed for 30% earnings drop.  Is it just maybe possible that BOTH ideas were blown way out of proportion?

You get a quote from ONE SINGLE MEMBER, and then extrapolate his/her opinion to "everybody". Draaaammmmma Queeeeeen!  :o

In every aspect there will always be someone with a different opinion. Considering that opinion as the voice of the WHOLE community doesn't make any sense.

If you stayed with DPC after most of us opted out, giving you less competition, I guess you could be happy you made some extra money for a while, and now that it's gone you're back to "normal" like the rest of us. I doubt anyone who stayed in will get much sympathy here at MSG.

Yeah, but the argument was, that you can kiss goodbye to credit sales, and we will see only subs after DPC launched. Obviously that was not the case, at least for me. I'm getting more money on FT than on SS and I sell less photos.

And it's actually the other way around. With SS you get mostly subs and now and then SODs and ODDs. With fotolia, even if you get only subs, they can range from 0.29$ to 5$+. Just yesterday I had a sub sale with 6.20 comission....

Although its a total mystery to me how they calculate the subs........SS still ahead for me but not this month.....had a very good run on FT which has halted temporarily I hope.

Sell photo with subscription 31 cent USD or something like that is also a so much cheaper price. Too low for photographer. DPC was the same price earning than a subscription.

I personally think the demise of DPC is good for the whole microstock community and was glad when Adobe closed it. As far as where the buyer will go after that, it's a crapshoot. They could stay on fotolia, they could look for a site with low prices, or they could just start surfing Google and getting free stuff. Hopefully they will go somewhere and at least pay for images.

As far as I know, DPC only got us $1 credit sales.  I never had many of those  and was never thrilled to get them anyway so DPC closing is no great loss.

FT has dropped a lot the past 3 weeks or so but it is not the $1 credit sales disappearing so has nothing to do with DPC.  It feels like image buyers are finding ways of getting things for free so sales are dropping almost everywhere.

DPC closed just over 3 weeks ago. Other than the drop straight after that, sales have been good. Only down in volume and now $'s have caught back up to the level before DPC closed it's doors. I'll only be about 400 sales down on the previous month but with better $'s. I can handle more $ per sale and volume will no doubt go back up.

Here is a rough analysis from my weekly stats.

I had a clear earnings "surge" preceding the DPC closure.
If I'm not wrong, I guess I can also identify a positive effect, after the creative cloud integration announced mid 2015. But, strangely enough, I can't see that positive creative cloud impact on my US sales.

Post DPC closure, the US earnings have visibly decreased, but the overall earnings seem to be similar to the pre-surge levels. At the same time, I gained about 2-300 positions on my Fotolia rank (~1000)

You'll be down only 400 sales? How many sales have you per month then, 5000?

Well one of those surges is Christmas. None of it looks particularly unusual to me.

How . closing of DPC could affect Fotolia sales?
1. It was announced in first videocast, when Adobe bought FT
2. Uploading and file transfers was disabled for how long? A half of the year?
3. Registration of new customers was blocked almost immediately after the deal.

It was already dead! A long time ago!

I'm not selling anywhere near 5000 a month yet, should have been about 2000... I was getting days of 80+.... even a few 100+days. In terms of income I'm back on target to match pre DPC closure earnings. The net impact seems to have been the equivalent of loosing 2 months gains. Looking at my figures I guess it will be nearer 300 down (sales). While it's a reasonable chunk they'd appear to have been lower value sales and what has replaced them are higher value ones. The graphs show a dip in volume but the PPI graph went up at the same point.

As with Zero Talent, I'm still seeing a reduced level of earnings from the US but this has been made up for by an increase in earnings as a whole. While I'd prefer not to of had that minor set back, I've been very happy with the volume of sales from Fotolia and Adobe since DPC closed and look forward to it continuing :-)

Pretty good. With those numbers, you've likely cracked the top 100, or on the borderline.
