Title: A huge cheer for Adobe Stock (and Mat!) in this most horrid year
Post by: Simon Brough on November 19, 2020, 18:46
It has to be said, Adobe Stock has demonstrated a very clear commitment to the relationship with, and welfare of, its content providers - something which is both refreshing and deeply heartening, especially during this horrendous year.

The rest of the microstock mega-marketplaces should take a good long look, in all honesty.

Personally, AS has provided some much needed light during these dark times and I'm especially grateful for the help and industry transparency Mat Hayward has given to these boards.

The artists on these forums are trying to make a living, dealing largely with impersonal corporate entities - many of which are taking our earnings and laughing all the way to the bank. Here's to direct and meaningful conversations with the people who ultimately make a difference to our livelihoods. This does not go unnoticed or unappreciated, Mat.

Well heck, that is extremely kind of you. Thanks for that Simon, you truly made my day.

You're most welcome, Mat. :) Your valued contributions here are helping (new and old!) content producers hugely.

True. It has to be said
This year AS has became my first agency in terms of revenue and respect (which works together most of the time ;-)
After the SS mess, my revenue there has significantly increase (don't know if there is any relation...)

It's highly appreciated to sell images and videos with very decent prices and even sometimes unexpected big licenses

Big respect from me too. This kind of personal approach to contributors is quite unique. I have also experienced this when I once contacted AS contributor support.

My question was about submitting music - as Adobe started to offer audio as well. Although it appeared that submitting music was not open for contributors, the person answering to me expressed his personal hope that it will be so one day. And actually in most cases it is all we need - no copy-paste from terms&conditions but a real person replying with his own words and showing to be on the same side with us. So although I got a negative answer, it was done in a most positive form and left me with a good feeling as a result.

This department is sure well lead in AS and a good example on how this should be done.

I was writing to a friend and did some minor research.

2015 when Adobe started to include their purchase of FT in the CC package: 3.4 million CC subscribers back then, now 21 million. 34 million images and videos on FT in 2015. Currently 218,281,672 images.

If there's one part that jumps out, in my opinion, why we are making more at Adobe every year, that would be - 3.4 million CC subscribers in 2015 and over 21 million in 2020.

Exactly what he said... Cheers Mat, Adobe Stock for all the effort this year! Despite everything that has gone on, it's been a good one. Cheers and all the best for the future everyone!

I agree with all the praises sung to Mat above.

Thank you, Mat. Please take care of yourself and stay safe, not only for your own sake but because we need you.

Thank you for everything Mat! Adobe has been like a rock in this horrible year.

Adobe will be high up on my list once I start producing again.

And since I am no longer on Shutterstock, Adobe will be my main agency for non exclusive content. I will also promote Adobe instead first in any workshops I do.

I really appreciate how reliable Adobe is and in the end...they really understand creatives like nobody else in the industry.

ETA: please consider adding a world map where we can see the last 10 sales. That is a very helpful feature that I thoroughly miss.
